May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Our center is closed until April and we'll see what happens at that point. :(

Not wanting to high-jack this thread.

How proactive was your local bowling community (association, centers, and league officers) in keeping you up-to-date with the rapidly changing covid-19 impact?

Here it was zero except for an email from AMF Bowling announcing their centers would be closed at least 15 days. You had to use common sense, and assume everything was shut down. None of the area bowling centers have updated their websites or Facebook pages with any statements, same with the local bowling association, and no confirming phone call/text messages from the local league officers except one who said the local AMF will be closed for 4 weeks.

And, of course, we have our share of the local business-as-usual crowd ...

Don't get me started on the local and state USBC websites. Our City's website does have a COVID-19 statement. But at the same time, if you try to sign up for the City Open Tournament, the application is from 2016. Current standings from the City Men's Tournament is from 2017.... you get the idea.

Here in Michigan all restaurants, bars, and places of recreation have been shut down by decree of the Governor. Basically we are under Marshal Law.
I had just hit a stride with my bowling game just in time for the tournament season.
This is totally disappointing.

One thing I can guarantee is worse. Dying.
Every person in the world will have to make a sacrifice.
Whether it be financial, health, inconvenience.
All of them combined arent as bad as death.

Ok it's not "Totally" disappointing.
From a bowling stand point yes, but from a survival standpoint it is not even close.

I am surprised the the Olympic Committee hasn't yet followed suit. Sports whether it be professional, college or recreational leagues have all cancelled. The Olympics are by far the most diverse crowds of people from every country. What a breeding ground for an aggressive virus like this.

Stay safe people. Use best practices to protect yourself and others.
Always remember that Darwinism applies to microbes.

In the classic novel War of the Worlds, the invading Martians overlooked pathogens that humans had become immune.

Stay connected with the sport by enhancing your knowledge of the game, buy a book maybe a video. Perhaps engage in some home fitness routines germane to bowling.

You all no doubt follow CDC

This is a wake-up call for humanity and a time to grow closer to each other.
Maps and borders are constructs of man.

Trust the science and your own good sense.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.
