I watched this and I just kept saying what,what...
If I was following this he says Too increase rev rate, Look at the Foul line not down the lane.
Have a bent elbow on the down swing, you need to get your thumb out faster, Grab the ball at the bottom of the swing and hit up on the ball.
Hitting on the ball is the tip for more revs hidden in plain sight,See the sarge Easter grip doesn't let you hit on the ball, so you lose revs.
That shows hitting on the ball gives you more revs, so keep the ring finger stretched so you can hit on the ball.
The drill for this is the foul line drill!

I see house shots are now the litmus test for bowlers.
Do what this guys says if:
1. You want to get hurt
2. You put zero premium on accuracy
3. You think rev rate is a measure of ability.

There's a lot of misinformation and click bait YouTube videos out there from bowlers trying to make money from Google AdSense.

Re: What did I just see? How To Increase Your Rev Rate Bowling video
I made a few comments on his video, like how the sarge easter grip only lowers your rev rate initially and as you get use to it it goes back and about how your not supposed to do things like hitting the ball and putting lift on it and grabbing. And target the foul line affects your accuracy.
Here was his reply:
Sarge Easter your ring finger will have a semi or conventional grip. That will for sure decrease rev rate. When I used inserts up until 2 years ago I jammed my fingers in the ball causing me to pretty much be a semi finger tip grip. Ive always done that. Once I went to no grips and actually used fingertip correctly my rev rate went up.
So he's saying here that when he started using a fingertip grip the proper way it caused his rev's to go up, that shows why a sarge easter will reduce your revs. I told him later You cant base how the sarge easter affects revs on the fact that you used a fingertip grip incorrectly and that your revs went up when you used a fingertip it correctly.
I got say if you can cram your fingers through your inserts till you have a semi grip, their the wrong size! or else there wedged in there so tight you won't come out clean and thats why he wasn't getting revs.
This vid was above increasing rev rate, not overall hook. While I know exactly what you're saying about lift, grabbing, hitting, the terminology has changed over the years amd was simply expressing it how many would understand.
So I guess basically he's saying he's using the terms hit, grab describe what he's doing to dumb it down for people. But he's not actually doing them. I said Yes terminology has changed, thats why you have to be careful about applying old terms to newer methods. Lift, hit, grab are terms relate to things your not supposed to do and using them in the wrong manner can cause problems if a bowler seeks more advanced coaching.
As far as the targeting goes I dont know where everyone looks but Wes Malott moves his target while he walking to go from break point to foul line. Liz Johnson (greatest female ever) looks at the foul line....
I think malott and johnson actually look at the dots, from what I've read about them. But I told him most bowlers are not Malot or Johnson and most pros dont target the foul line.
One thing that got me too was how he said the middle finger does nothing, but the very next sentence he contradicts that by saying you can only bowl "Half way" decently using only the ring finger. That to says to me the middle finger must have been doing something to get the other half!
The amazing thing about this video is there are 200 comments virtual all saying how great and informative this video is and how much it helped them.

It helps to have a hand that can wrap halfway around the ball.
