Flaring over bottom of thumb hole

Post by steve s »

I have a bowler that the flare rings go completely around the ball and clips the bottom of the thumb hole...any suggestions on how to solve the problem? Thanks Steve s...

Lower flaring ball. Whether is be lower differential or lower flare layouts.

In the past I would recommend a P1 balance hole to reduce flare on existing equipment but the new rules will deem that illegal come this August. Another option is to drill the fingers deeper. It will be allowed to drill gripping holes 4 1/2" deep. 4 inches should be enough to reduce the flare and keep it off the thumb.

Avoid high flare Pin to PAPs with small VAL angles.
