Impetus for post:
Received email noting Specto available at Lakeview Lanes in Sun City Az.
Sun City is a retirement community.
Having this in Sun City is a bit of a surprise to me, given that there are around 30 centers in the Phoenix metro area where demographics would seem more apropos. Bowling is not limited to seniors per se.
This is not to slam seniors as I'm way into that category.

Be that as it may, I noted 48 posts in this forum mentioning Specto.
So, on the off chance there are any Phoenix metro bowler's that may be interested, I thought I'd create a focal point. Note the 10 dollar off off in the email.
I'm have no financial connections, never been in the business.

Don’t know where I read it, but they say youth and Seniors are the ones paying for coaching. And it helps to have an owner invest in it.

Thanks Stacy. Possible Nexus, Grandparents and their grandchildren. Good family activity opportunity. Kids are the future of the sport and more importantly, the world.

So glad to hear of this. I've been inactive since 2005, but maintain interest in the sport, though I've not watched pro bowling in years.

Many seniors I've casually observed, could easily benefit from just a few tweaks to their game, if provided by quality experienced Coachs not mired in the past.
There is sometimes a philosophy to pigeonhole people as if there were immutable monolithic characteristics cast in stone based on some type of bias or myth.

Again an issue of awareness and education.

As with many centers, there are no committed skills development resources.

Hopefully the local association will encourage bowler's here.

Topic sentence on their link ...
"May 1986, to promote continued interest in the sport of bowling and to encourage fellowship among bowling participants."

Thanks again for all you contribute.

John,

As I recall investing in Specto is a serious commitment of about $14K to purchase, and ~$500 in annual fees.

I have a center about 2 hours from me that has Specto installed, and it costs about $8 per hour plus lane rental.

I have used Specto and it can be very eye-opening.

Thanks Glenn, good information.
Did not think it was cheap.
I was surprised that SC made that investment. I hope bowler's will provide return on investment.
I recall Richard Schockley's comments on bowler consistency based on his years with Kegel.
Hopefully this will lead to better things for all.
Take care.
