Hi,

What are your thoughts about the latest video from JR Raymond on how to properly squeeze a bowling ball in your approach?

Ignore the giant bruise on the pad of his thumb from squeezing it the way hes telling you not to.
Do as I say, not as I do. Perfect.

Re-watched it and noticed the bruise. Maybe he got tired of the pain and is now squeezing the right way. Could see how that bruise would bring about a lot of questions from his students.

LOL I noticed that too.
He recently published a video on his new CLT drilling technique that he claims "offset" the thumb and gave him a cleaner release.

Read some of the comments below the video. Somebody did point out the blister. JR admitted he wouldn't teach someone to throw it the way he does.

I actually started doing this on my own a long time ago because I would get big blisters on the back of my thumb on the first knuckle from gripping the wrong way. One of the few times I've found that I'm doing something considered the "right" way.
Right handed
Rev Rate 420s
Ball speed at release 17
Axis point 6 3/16" and 1" up
Tilt 17 degrees
Rotation 70 degrees
