What will be the rules for balls for the World Senior Championship September 2-10 ? In regard with the USBC recommendations in place before August 2018 ?

That is an excellent question. I have asked that a few times myself and I was told the WTBA are considering the question. As the tournament is being held in the USA this year it might operate under the new USBC rules. If it is a WTBA tournament it should operate under WTBA rules, whatever they are at the time of the tournament.

Some bowlers will probably arrive with equipment that conforms to the wrong rules.

It will be an interesting tournaament.

USBC isn’t and shouldn’t be the center of the World, pun intended. As far as I know WTBA hasn’t adopted that absurd balance hole rule yet. I also believe one can still adjust surface between games but I might be wrong on the last one. It’s a good question though, let’s see what happens. Anyway the USBC no balance hole rule takes effect August 2020.

Here is the answer of the organizer :
"The current rules as of January 1, 2019 are the same as recent ball rule changes implemented by USBC."

Now I wonder if the organizer is the WTBA?
