Yesterday's televised event on FOX from the Kegel Center in Florida showed the players' stats. I found it odd that all of their rev rates seems similar (though I did not catch Belmo's), in the 400 range, and that the rev rate seemed to vary with each player based on their speed. Does the Spectro (sp?) measure the rev rate off the hand or at the pin deck?

I contacted Kegal about Specto,

Name: Eric Hartwell

Subject: RPM measurement

Message: Where is the RPM of the ball measured?/
Is it at release or at the pin deck?

their response..

Thanks for the inquiry Eric!
RPM is actually a calculated number between a few pieces of data, speed, change of direction etc. It’s not an exact location.

We hope you have a merry Christmas!

I was able to play with this equipment a while ago. At least for me it showed quite accurate rev rates at the point of release. I verified the rev rate using video capture.
