I’ve started doing local tournaments and would like advice on how you’d attack this oil pattern. I prefer/more comfortable keeping the pocket in front of me. Anything helps and is appreciated.

Here is a better view of the pattern shape.
You should be able to play further out on this pattern, it isn't as narrow in the middle as longer pattern usually are (like Dead Mans Curve).
I actually personally prefer longer patterns where the "slope" of the pattern is further out (where the oil per board decreases), lets me play straighter with my higher revs more comfortably.
