Well, according to all I read, Hook It contains Butyrolactone and N-Methyl 2 Pyrrolidone.
Kegel's Revive Bowling Ball Cleaner contains 2-butoxyethanol.
Since all of these are powerful solvents of resins (this is where the tacky surface is coming from, I guess), I am quite irritated that their usage does not have a negative impact on the actual ball surfaces. The only explanation I have is that these solvents remove the resin/oil (liquids) within the cavities of the polymerized ball plastics without damaging the actual ball plastic (because it is polymerized?).

I have found that ultrasonic cleaning does wonders on radical surfaces. The cover on radical ball is acting like a sponge. This is not obvious for all manufacturers... I have not yet met a Radical ball that does not act like a sponge.
At least for me this is a good thing because I have the US washer. I use only water to de-oil the ball.
