Missing the 3-10 the hardway!
You don't see this too often and a lot of people don't realize you can do it.
This one happened on 3-27-2018 to the guy on the next lane.

"REMEMBER, it isn't how much the ball hooks, it's where."

Umm wow. Haven't done that in years. If I was bowling with you I would buy you a shot just to take the pain away of the proper attempt but the super bad break.

Easy. Dont hook at it. Plastic across 25 at the arrows, hit right of center of the 3.
Re: Missing the 3-10 the hardway!
Just to note I wasn't the one that did it, That was the guy beside me. I just happened to get the shot in my video.SomyP wrote:Umm wow. Haven't done that in years. If I was bowling with you I would buy you a shot just to take the pain away of the proper attempt but the super bad break.

My partner that throws the ball 2 handed went right between the baby split on the left side yesterday. We both thought the pins were off center and the ball shouldn't be able to fit between them.
Re: Missing the 3-10 the hardway!
Pins are 12 inches apart, So center to center the 3 and the 10 pins are 24 inches apart. So there is about 20 inches in between them, more than enough for a 8.5" diameter ball to fit through.krava wrote:My partner that throws the ball 2 handed went right between the baby split on the left side yesterday. The first time I saw that miss was in 1977, with a rubber ball. Happened at Gala Lanes in Naperville, when it was a private 32 lane suburban center on urethane finished wood lanes.

I've seen it done by a league bowler, twice in the same game. He did miss this way, all too often. Should have been a place kicker.
Reminds me of the scenes from "Good Morning Vietnam" where the guy keeps trying to start the engine while it's running, grrrrrrrrrriiiiinnndd.
As Robin Williams said, "Boggles the mind".
May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

It happened to me 2 years ago during league.
I got a long applause from the audience as well as from the teams left and right of our lanes. I never got applause for a strike or for making a split. But I got applause for missing a split....

I've taken the 4-8 out on a strike ball. That was a pretty bad shot to say the least. Comical though.
