Variables affecting scoring

Carry Questions
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13414" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Rationale: Create a consolidated and succinct list of things that can influence scoring.
Try to avoid repetition.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Skill level of the player
Equipment used (Balls, Pins,Lanes, maintenance, etc.)
Lane conditions (Weather, oil patterns etc.)
Random chance

That should cover everything, anything else would just be a subset of those.

I don't want to get off track, but are you also interested in human factors? Maybe they're obvious?

Fatigue. Get more sleep the night before league.
Nutrition. Energy level, blood sugar.
Hydration. I'm keeping a water bottle (Gatorade, etc) with me when I bowl.
Fitness. Regular stretching and strengthening.

I'm using the same exact equipment (Primo, Paradox) from last year, but averaging +10 & +20 in two leagues. I bowled so/so in one league this summer.

Mid-September, I made a conscious effort to sleep more, eat earlier (no big dinner before league, no skipping dinner) and hydrate.

Yes, it's early. Not much data. We'll see if it's sustainable, or just an 8 week anomaly.
I'm sustaining focus for all 3 games, staying relaxed, making better shots and decisions - that translates to scoring.

Gutter depth.
How lively the sideboards are.
How old are the pins? New, Old, broken in.
Twister pins.
Wood lanes versus synthetic.
