bowlingball prices
The last 2 balls i bought were the Scandal and the Snaplock. Both of them with thumb slugs (drilled oval) and finger inserts. Each ball , everything included came to $180 and both @ $360 ( which i though was a good price) what are your average prices that you guys pay for a ball?

Re: bowlingball prices
Yes, I think you got a pretty good price. If I bought those 2 balls online and brought them in to be drilled I would have over $200 invested into each ball. $50 for drilling an internet ball, slug and inserts included. Added cost for switchgrips puts me over the $200 mark.

EricHartwell= that was not a good price, that was a steal or a give away. I would have been long out of business with those mark ups.EricHartwell wrote:Yes, I think you got a pretty good price. Re: bowlingball prices
Not to be lost in this discussion is the fact that the cost of living, doing business vary for area to area and that has to be factored in. Yes, no, maybe??
For example a pro shop in Seattle Washington probably has to charge more than one in Tucson Arizona.
A shop in the Phoenix area was advertising 6 balls in the "Desert Bowler" a bowling paper available at centers and online.
The balls were listed 4@ 195, 2@175 , drilling included. His shop was my shop of choice when I bowled (or tried to). Slugs and grips were an additional cost.

Re: bowlingball prices
i just got a NIB octane carbon on ebay for $87, and before that a NIB paradox tx3 for $120.
ebay can be a place to get good prices for new balls on an auction (depending how high people are willing to go)

If I had 6 hours to chop down a tree I would spend the first 4 sharpening the axe.
