Greek Church

Post by bfweld »

Hey everyone...today I left a greek church (4-6-7-9-10) and managed to pick it up. Afterwards I realized that I know I've never picked it up before and I don't remember ever seeing anyone pick it up either so I'm wondering how many people here have picked it up and if so have you don't it more than once?

I picked it up at least once, albeit many years ago. I recall getting very pumped up over it.

I made it once and it salvaged a decent score during a team tournament. So that was nice.

I have made it a few times. The first time I was told my chances of making it were better if I went at the 4-7 (right handed). The goal is to shoot at it like a 4-9. I did and the 4 along with the 9 went toward the 6 and 10. Definitely pumped me up.

The other times I was going for three and happened to pick it up.

Never picked it up. I get one shot at it maybe every 3 years. Never picked up the Big 4 either. I don't remember ever leaving it ever this year. I leave 3 of the big 4 pins from time to time though.

Don't throw a crappy shot to begin with. If you do take pin count.

Twice. Once in league once in practice.

Never the 7-10 or 4-6.

Converted the Greek Church 1 time and it was on a sport shot this season. Seen it made 1 other time in the last 20 years. Have also converted the 4-6 on a sport shot about 3 years ago.

I have made it several times over the past 30 years. I only could make it going after the 6-9-10 side. Never seemed to make it from the 4-7 side.

I've never made the Greek church, but I have made the 4-6 before. Most of the time I just take the count on splits and move on. Also if it's any consolation I've made the 2-8-10 once in practice as well.

I was basically going for count when I picked it up, hit the 6/10 and the 6 hit the 9 then shot over and hit the 7, which then the 7 hit the kick plate and bounced up and forward into the 4. I didn't know the "preferred" way to try and pick it up was going for the 4/7 until afterwards when I was talking with my driller about it.

I find if you throw it slow and can get the ball to hook into the 6 pin (rh) it gives it the best angle to convert it. I've converted it almost every time I can get this to happen. I've tried throwing normal spare speed and usually get 4 leaving the 4 pin.

of course I missed it a lot too. sometimes throwing a gutter ball leaving them all. that'll ruin a game!

If you leave the greek church doesn't that mean your ball is still in the hook phase?
