Post-Shot Celebrations...
I have seen many youth bowlers give a little "gesture" after they get a double, turkey, or shoot a good game. In my opinion, if one is better off calm, they usually end up doing better and continue to be in a groove for a longer period of time instead of getting hyped up.
Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
i know for one thing, if im in matchplay and i messenger the ten or carry something, im gonna slap it out because i know it might mess with their head. i always calm down before the next shot though.

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I rarely celebrate post-shot.
Last week of PBA Experience I was brutal on Cheetah.
Last game, I resorted to using urethane, and had 4 in a row at one point.
Everyone in the league knows im mild mannered, but after the frustration, and the turn around of 4 in a row I did a PDW crotch chop sarcastically.
The only woman in the league spit her soda out.
I do it for fun on occassion.
But in a serious mens league, I wouldnt ever showboat, sarcasm or not.

Alright. Whenever i am in league, i am more loose, and i like to have a lot of fun, which usually means i will show quite a few of my celebrations. However, in a tournament, i may only give a "Tiger Woods fist pump" if i made a split, struck out in the 10th, or beat my opponent with a good match. I find talking to myself gets inside my opponents head very well... and other bowlers have called me Patrick Allen before... Hehehe

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I'm not a fan of celebrating at all. I'm very calm natured when bowling and no matter the result of the shot i'm usually a statue. So choose to celebrate, I choose not to, to each is own. I also find that I don't dwell on bad shots like the ones that are very animate and I don't get over excited when throwing a big shot.

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I'm not one to get "pumped up" or anything like that unless it's a team tournament and my team mates are doing it. It's extremely rare though. Mostly, I just make a fist and do a "right on" movement with it. I know it's very common in juniors to slap shots out, yell, etc but that was never the type of bowler I was really.

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I think it depends on the bowler, in a typical league, i usually try to have some fun and i do use some celebrations after strikes, but in a tournament, im a lot calmer as not to disrupt others there
Only throwing the good stuff, Roto Grip/900 Global

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I don't see any issues with post shot celebration when not excessive. By this I mean walking off a string slapping off a messenger fist pump. However in a tourney setting it must be meaningful.

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
Only reactions I do are when I convert a split, and then it's minimal. Not that I'm not having fun, but I'm just not that "boo-ya" person.

that about made me spit out my soda :p ...
personally I'll do a fist pump when I pick up a split or something.. but that's about all.. i'm actually kinda vocal when i need a shot to push or carry... but in tournys.. all you will get from me is a fist pump...

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
I have but one post-shot celebratory method I employ. It's the gentle nod of the head to the best looking bartender which indicates I'm ready for that free adult beverage I earned from stomping my opponent's team into submission. Any other celebrating is both premature, unwarranted, and will, most likely, summon additional efforts to humiliate you and your teammates from me & mine.....just a little food for thought.

The best bowler east of Watertown and west of Oconomowoc, merely asks for his first round after winning?
You're a little more intense than that my friend.
Im sure you've belted out a few battle cries in your day.

Don't get me wrong, E. I've had a few "fist pumps" in my day. Ultimately, performance NEEDS to speak louder than any actions on the approach.

You'd get this post past most. Since, Mapleway is between both Oconomowoc and H20town ...I know 230 is NOT the best kegler to come out of Mapleway.I find this hard to believe.

It hurts when you know the area.

Scott, there are times where I'm not certain I'm the best bowler in my own home let alone the 13 miles between Cooney & Watertown....lol

Re: Post-Shot Celebrations...
if you just won the game for the team with a great shot that came at exactly the right time, you just gotta celebrate a little...maybe the "big arm curl" above your shoulders witha little "yea".. and of course... the ball, as it's rolling down the lane, needs some coaching occasionally imho
no matter what I ask, the worst that can happen is "sorry, can't help", so I ask away...as always THANKS for your time!
