Dean is one of those folks not unlike Jim Merrell in that "He plays real good, for free"
There are a number of "Rate/Review" threads on this forum, where opinions are garnered via poll and commentary.
The wiki link in turn has links to the individual Rate/Review polls.

I've been told that Bowling books do not SELL well. Visit a brick and mortar store or look at Amazon for responses.
Note very well that the poor track record of sales preceded the advent of the internet so we can't blame it on web sharing.
Many will never see or read Mark Bakers work, or Voss's work. Many have never read the encyclopedic epic by Tom Kouros.
Dean and others help bridge the gap in a major way and he does it gratis.
Thanks to all of you that continue to share your knowledge and ideas, for the sheer joy of it!
Note very well that most experts of yesteryear, today, (and tomorrow), have built their knowledge base on empirical data and observation. Same as it ever was.
Modern technology facilitate collection and promulgation. There are few if any new ideas that have not drawn from observation and the work of others.
I think it is very important that everyone no matter who, never forget to credit their sources.
Dean always does that.
This forum gets a lot of traffic, but is still unknown to most who twirl, roll, or throw bowling balls.
Do what you can to make it known to others.
Do what you can to grow the sport, Dean does!

May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Re: Dean Champ's Video
is there a side view diagram of long vs short flat spot? perhaps it will best be illustrated by slo-mo video.
I think it would be very helpful to show this and how to open the flat spot up.
thanks & happy holidays.
