As we march towards 4000 members (3983 at this juncture)
I know that we are all security conscious today. That's induced by good sense and today's society.
Many of our members new and old have not specified a location in the profile.
I'd encourage considering adding something there that is at some level a good geographic reference of reality.
Often times a bowler will want help insofar as pro shops, coaches or whatever.
They are free to ask, accept, or reject any of that.
I am not now or in the past monetarily connected with the industry or the sport, nor do I plan to be so.
And no one is beating down my door
But if you are John or Mary Bowler and seek help here and another member notes your location, they can make recommendations of which via your own due diligence can explore and pursue or ignore.
Now for sure a Mo Pinel or a Jim Merrell can and do provide priceless information but imagine how much more you'd learn in person. Point being, getting local competent help is very often a viable nutrient to your bowling soul.
Free is nice but has it's limits we have some very fine expertise here on the forum, but time and resources place limits on all.
So I hope some will add that information and that in time it will yield dividends.
Also I hope that some of our new and old members will reply to the thread on the choice of screen name that was started by Triplicate

May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Adding a reply to bump this up.
We should remember that we have quite a few members to which English is not their first language.
Anecdote:
Language translation snafu
English phrase " out of sight, out of mind" was input to be translated into another language.
Translated output " invisible idiot ".
Sometimes our intent can be misinterpreted by the nuances of language.
For example, if I was writing on a Spanish forum and said I was " muy embarazada", meaning I was very embarrassed, I'd received congratulations. I'd be puzzled by that answer. "Embarazada" means pregnant. Oops!

Re: Location, Location, Location ...
"Tome asiento" means "have a seat" translator says "drink a chair"... you get the idea... puerto rican here from San Juan PR, fully bilingual English and Spanish certified coach. I can read, listen, speak, write and think in either language, worked some time as an English tutor at an engineering university... can do "Spanglish" too... If anyone needs some help with a specific spanish translation that relates to this forum, please feel free to ask for my help.

Re: Location, Location, Location ...
Went to the bowling chat add location or whatever it is for that bowling map. The captia thing at the bottom says that recaptia v1 is out of date no longer working so I can't get past the security thing.
