League warm ups?

Post by markkuhn »

Okay, it's league night and the lanes get turned on for warm up throws.
What's the best way to figure out where the shot is with the 5 or 6 throws you get?

Here are a few thoughts for consideration. Resources provided.

Team Mantra

First a thought that transcends bowling. Don't let a short attention span annihilate your development and well being. Oft times, all a silver bullet solution gets you, is a classy hole in your foot. Subscribing to BTM, getting a few good books, Dukes video, good medicine for your game

1) Warm ups should start before you shoe up. Warm up your body. Seriously, this is a No Matter What!

More on fitness etc.
Youtube - Athlean - x ; askdrjo

2) For most mortals, first shots will be slower and they should be.
3) Big IF here. If possible work as a team. 5x5 is 25 shots!!!
The first segment of the video below is a 7 shot recon of EACH lane, by Lou Marquez
If your team can work together you can make this work.
Even more important if you travel

If you work alone
Post #2 has a routine by Susie Minshew , cheesy diagram by yours truly.

4) Keep a diary and journalize your findings about how each lane plays
Mark Roth did it, Parker Bohn III does it.

5) Del Warren - Discusses determining how to find out how to play. See first segment.

Feel fortunate you get 5 or 6 shots. Both Sr. leagues I'm on I'm lucky to get 1 per side. 8 seniors and 10 minutes. Not a great combination.

I'm a senior and I'm laughing.
Back when I had hair and it was dark, there was a team in a men's league.
They were slow. How slow were they?

The saying, late for your own funeral applies.
There were times they were getting fit for coffins during league

Did not download doc,I was wondering if it's the Lou Marquez system as illustrated with Bob Learn in a USBC video?
