Horrible Skip Step
I have a horrible skip step on the step before the slide. It causes me to have horrible leverage and accuracy. What could be the cause of this and how should I try to fix it?

There can be more than one reason.
For starters -
Compare your footwork to what you see in this set.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free,

Re: Horrible Skip Step
Rob....welcome to the site,
A short skip step prior to the slide is usually the result of the swing being way ahead of the feet at this point. Usually the ball gets way ahead of the feet early and the skip step is the bodies way of catching later.
A video from the side would be helpful for a more accurate analysis.
