Thoughts and corrections for my shot?

Hey all, I'd love some feedback on my shot. I'm trying to get a very modern style release (Mike Fagan has my favorite swing and release). I am concerned about my swing, I'm not sure if it's straight enough. I'm also concerned about the timing of my steps as well as the length of each step. I have a five step approach, yet I have to setup at the very edge of the approach and I still end up close to the foul line. I've also noticed that my first crossover step goes across my left foot rather than straight in front of it. Is this okay or should I straighten out that first crossover step?

To copy somebody else is not good! Watch many(50%),try some(10%) and adapt (0-3%). You need to try things out. The things that are very consistent will be part of your main style! Start with perfecting them. Then gradually venture out. Most Pro Bowlers have unique parts in their approach. This is their main style (what comes natural). The rest just conforms well (fine tune). And that is where trial & error plays the part. Try to tape yourself. Looking at yourself on tv throwing many shots looking for the consistent parts that feel natural will tell you your main form. I never had a Coach. I learned from watching/trying. I was a Certified Coach Instructor at age 16. I coached the our Adult Coaches after my Junior League on Saturdays. I would refine your style. Not a generic/somebody else style. That will only work best for them! I don't agree with most Coaches. They teach what they think !Not refine/enhance YOUR main consistencies. I have done everything in the bowling industry except make Bowling Pins. I have been a PBA member since 1986. Was sidelined due to Cancer and now am BACK. I could not hit the shot the Houses/house shot are putting out with the new over-reactive equipment they have now. I thought of changing & tried things for about 3 months.I ended up just toaning down my style and started finding weights in different balls to conform to ME! I do look at hand positions at release(play in very slow-mo) on tv to see hand positions at release. You probably will not get the same reaction that they do. But, you will learn from reps you do on the lanes. Avery good idea is to develop a good spare routine with a plastic ball. Strikes don't mean much when you open between them.

Looks like you have a lot of potential.
The main thing I am seeing is you lose your balance and fall off to the right.
Fagen never does that, he is still and balanced like a ballet dancer.
He is also subtle and delicate in all his motions like a cat stalking prey.
Try to keep that balance and post that shot.
Keep up the good work.

You have early timing, the ball gets to to foul line to far ahead of your feet, this is why you fall of your shot, (lose balance), so delay your push away to fix this.
Also the pivot step (step before slide) is to big , make it smaller, this will give a flat spot to make delivery of the ball more consistent on to the lane. Watch your video of the second to last step, this is the timing step, your bowling arm should be level just as your slide foot hits the ground, at the moment its gone past that and is lower. If the ball goes behind the back its because the push away is going too far to the right, then going backwards behind your back, push away is towards your target and walking towards your target. So make the push away square on from the body.
