SLOW DOWN
Good evening all. Been awhile since I've been on here. I am having a problem with rushing during my delivery. Being a coach, it's easy to teach someone what to do but when it come to myself, I have no idea. I am a 5 step bowler, 330rr 16 off hand. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I feel all out of sync(no pun intended) at times. On and off. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Rest in Peace.
Rest in Peace.

Re: SLOW DOWN
First thing that comes to mind is getting the ball into your swing a little later. You might be rushing your feet to catch up with your swing. If you start the swing a little later, your feet will have to go slower to let it catch up.
Hard to tell w/o any video though. If you can grab one w/ a side and back view of your whole approach, it would be easier for our very well qualified coaches (not myself) to help out.

Re: SLOW DOWN
Weird how that works. I don't have to focus on the pace of my feet at all, they just go with my swing quite naturally. All I had to work on footwork wise was getting placement on the approach consistent, and adding the balance beam second step. My keys are mostly eye and hand based. My eyes need to stay on my target, my hand can't twist to the inside at the top of my swing (I'm already working the inside, this just pulls my swing out of kilter and makes me grab it), and I can't grab the ball at release (I use so much tape now, so much)rrb6699 wrote: I can't tell you how much this works for me!

Re: SLOW DOWN
i'd double check you fit. for me it's not 'trying' to do anything, but, just doing what my hand and arm/wrist does naturally.

Yep, I'm getting that looked at ASAP. I'm fairly certain a ball that fits properly doesn't rip a callous off the base of your thumb. Already started a thread on that and everyone was in agreement.

Re: SLOW DOWN
Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick, Slide is a great training aid. Ensure the ball placement is close to your body at address. Wait to drop the ball into the Hinge until your heel of the right foot hits the approach. This will automatically / naturally force the body to increase the foot-speed for the next two steps....Try it...
