Head over ball at release position
Based on that Tommy Jones attachment in the modern release thread topic, I noticed that his ball is to the left of the swing slot line from under his head as the swing comes through the release point. Is that the ideal position for the ball under the head? To the left of that swing line under the head?

Re: Head over ball at release position
In the attachment you will see that TJ's back swing is very straight.
There is a slight tuck left at the top; the downswing then is very straight. Compare the ball position to blue line in the down swing. This swing style matches up very well to playing the high friction game.
Ideal swing shape?
Either inside or down the line would be acceptable.
TJ is playing deep inside and the camera is not looking down his intended target line.
Most of your posts you seem to stress a desire to move left and open up the lane. This would then be your ideal swing shape.

It's not just the desire to open up the lane, but it's the extreme desire to have a repeatable game where the ball is under the head in the correct swing slot line where I can play anywhere on a lane. I don't want the kind of head over ball swing where I'm going up the first zone and the ball is to the right under my head in the swing slot line and I pull the shot or worse push it in the channel.

Definitely not what I was taught by Mo.snowspike1 wrote:

The swing plane in that video is what I was doing before working with Mo.

Re: Head over ball at release position
There are alot of opinions and everyone is intitled to them.
What Mo has taught you Megamav is how to hinge the ball properly to compete in the
high friction game.
Everyone has a choice, glad you made the right one.
Just my opinion of course,
Jim

Yes, I do have pictures of TJ's setup.
However, Guns started this post by asking a legitimate question concerning his downswing direction.
I gave him my opinion.
This post now seems to be going in another direction.
There are many videos of T.J on youtube as well, check it out.
