How do you get the large gap between your slide leg and trail leg? When you look at Belmonte, and otger 2 handers or power players in general from the side the gap between each leg is huge.
How do you get this? What physical queues(drop hip, push off 4th step, etc) are necessary?

You mean length of slide step?
I think that it just result of enough speed together with sliding sole.
Of course good timing help they get to right position.

You might want to take a look at the "Analysis and Keys of the 2-Handed Style of Bowling by Jim Merrell" video:
This video is an analysis of the two-handed style of bowling, highlighting key educational elements. Focus is on the set-up position at address, distance of ball placement, the importance of maintaining upper body posture until the beginning of the slide, incorporating a long slide and maintaining a balanced finish position.

One way is to have a very short step before the power or pivot step.

Kegel showed this in the teen master instructional set. You can also see it in Marshall Holman on the supervision tapes on the wiki (a Jowdy tip)

Thank you everyone for your replies.
I forgot to mention in the original post that I have a hard time driving off my trail leg into the slide. When I was getting coached someone said "there's no tension here". I'm having a hard time applying leg drive and wondered if there were exercises or physical queues to get the same movement into the slide Belmonte has in the pic above

Do one step drills focusing on driving off your power step. I will post a link to the kegel video, being a two hander, do the same with your legs but obviously bring the ball back (backswing) with two hands and release as you normally do:

Spine tilt should correspond to your two handed style and start the drill where your power step would normally end up in a full approach. Good luck!
