23* tilt any ideas?

Post by elgavachon »

Bowler needs a sweet spot. specs: right handed tournament bowler.
23* tilt
45* rotation
18mph hand
250 rpm
I am guessing the sweet spot on assymmetrical =30* 4 1/2 30* P4. on symmetrical=35* 3.25 30* P3

currently using Invasion 40* 4 1/2 30* no wt hole. 360 abralon fingers drilled deep. static wts 1/2 finger 1/2 pos
Morich Response 40* 4 1/4 30* P4 1000 abralon
Morich Mojave 40* 4 1/4 25* no wt hole 4000 polished
available to add Storm Hy-road and Morich Awesome finish with 4 1/2 Pin to cg low top wt.

I was thinking Hyroad for wet-dry 35* 3 45*
Awesome Finish benchmark.
thanks for opinions and comments.

Speed vs Revs = Speed dominant, so baseline total = 80°
Tilt is high, so the total needs to be lowered. That would make it around 70° - 75°.
We need to burn off that tilt, so we need lower ratios (1.5:1 - 1:2) and longer pins (4"+).

For me it comes out to around 30° / 4.5 / 40°.

As it turns out, this is the same layout Mo gave for my wife, who was measured at 23° tilt in Newport. I just checked it to make sure! LOL! Go figure!

thanks Kelly
I just found your wifes specs. on her specs she is listed as 16-17 mph with 200 revs. I remember when you said she was speed dominant, but that when you were working with Mo she was throwing the ball a little bit slower than usual. Did Mo give her the specs figuring she would speed the ball up more?

THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything around 60* to 70* sum of the angles is good. Angle ratios from 3:2 and 2:3 works. Pin to PAP distances from 4" to 5 1/2" on asymmetricals. 3" to 4" pin to PAP distances on symmetricals. Balance holes from P2 (control only) to P4.

That I couldn't tell you. I know she gets pretty good amount of revs for a girl, when her wrist allows it. I would say he wrote that up looking at how she was bowling in Newport. I know this Thursday I timed a couple of balls and they were getting down there in around 2.4s, which averages out at about 17mph. Like I said, she can heave it! LOL! I wouldn't be surprised if she throws it harder than I do! LOL!

Ya, don't let some of the girls I know hear you say that.
Quick question: does a P3 wt hole in a symmetrical drilling decrease the drilling angle as compared to a P4 wt hole?

LOL! She's knows it's true! :P She would say the same thing actually, so I think I'm good. Just to be safe, I might not let her read this one! :P Not that she would anyway.
