ball layout

Post by shears »

I just got my new ball drilled,
I have a 5 1/2 up a 1/2 pap right hand, high track,
it ended up 70x3/12x 40 with a weight hole 2 1/4 down from the midline
on my val. I have med ball speed with med revs,
just wondering what kind of reaction I can expect .
thanks for any input

rev 320 to 340
rotation 45 to 60
tilt 11*
pap 5 1/2 over 1 up
Right handed

Assuming your speed and revs actually match, you'll get decent length with a relatively sharp breakpoint, and with 3.5" pin to pap, you'll get a large amount of flare, and should cover a decent amount of boards. But this will be highly dependent on what ball you put this layout on, and what surface you use.

my speed and revs are pretty close to matched..i think
the cg is kicked right a little below the midline and 3 1/4 from my pap
the mass bias is just below and looking at the ball a little right of the centerline of the
thumb. the pin is just right of my ring finger. It is on a lane 1 curve.

rev 320 to 340
rotation 45 to 60
tilt 11*
pap 5 1/2 over 1 up

well just so you all know... I also have 2 new mania's a craze, an ntense levrg,
a new invasion and a new reign of fire...oh and an awesome revs
I am not a ball specific person..I like new stuff
and it doesn't really matter to me who it's from
i only wondered what the ball in ? might do as we can use none of this new
stuff in our home house. all to strong, and it beats the hell out of your equipment
I have to drive a 100 miles to lanes that I can roll the good stuff on.
Thanks!

You are taking this way too personal about mentioning Lane #1 equipment. The people you are wanting a response from have full time jobs and responsibilities that may prevent them from answering questions immediately after posting.

Dude, you can be a petulent child if you like, but nobody is obligated to help you. There have been MANY unanswered questions on these boards, so you can take it or leave it. Also, bear in mind that Mo has been travelling these last few weeks. Then you go ahead and insult the people you want to help you by saying "it beats the hell out of your equipment." Not exactly the best way to solicit help really.

From what I've read about the Curve, its a real hook monster of a ball. The layout you have promotes a later rolling ball with a strong back end. Since you've put it on a stronger ball, you can probably expect this ball to get a good mid lane read and VERY strong angular back end reaction.

Be more patient man. There are a number of people who are trying to get answers to questions and don't always get the answer they're looking for, when they want it. It one of the "drawbacks" of forum based information gathering. If you don't get an answer, you're not alone.

I garauntee you that Mo, Math and Purdue could care less what ball your throwing. You could be throwing a frickin' rock for all they care. Be patient, your answers will come.

sorry for my impatience. I am heading to reno wed. and was hoping to have a little info
on what to expect from this ball,
Also I didn't not mean this ball beats the hell out of my other equipment, our bowling alley here at home beats the hell out of the balls you roll there.
I have no idea what this ball will be like, I also have a full time. 12hr a day job and
have not been able to make the trip 100 miles away to a bowling alley were I feel safe
in seeing what this ball will do. I would not take a chance on throwing even a couple of
frames here at home with my high end stuff, as it could come back at any given time
with a big nick or gouge in it. we have old wood lanes and old pin setters. I do mean OLD.
again, I am sorry I was not trying to ruffle any feathers....
and coming from someone 20 years younger than I, a petulent child...cracked me up.
oh...and we throw rocks at our home house...... they last longer.....

Heh, got the point across though, right? ;) I hear you with the older equipment in the house. Our house is exactly the same. I just fixed a HUGE gouge out of my White Dot. And, a couple of the lanes send the balls back with HUGE black belt marks all over them. I've cleaned 3 balls in the last 2 week because of this problem.

As I mentioned earlier, all reports I've read on this ball have been that its a monster of a ball. Very strong in the mids and still going strong at the pins. Since you've got a layout that promotes later roll with strong back end, I would expect this ball to do pretty well in oil.

I look forward to hearing how you do in Reno with it.

Shears,

If you've gotten a rise out of MathIsTruth and your post was edited twice, I'm not interested in this thread; so Sayonara. I back my people. Too bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, thats a shame, really. I was hoping to see a result here. I guess this is a lesson in diplomacy and not biting the hand that feeds, so to speak.
