Mo, et al
I was gifted a Craze recently, and have been trying to figure out how to punch it out, but have been at a slight impasse, as the cg is 2.5" to cg, however the cg is 2" right of the line from pin to MB.
It is a second, but the free price was worth not passing up. Luckily, however the top weight is only 1.8oz, so Maybe I can work this despite the offset cg.
Any suggestion on handling this? I haven't had a chance to get much practice in since I saw you at the Albany clinic (school, work, surgery recovery). Similarly, I haven't had a chance to really get comfortable with the grip you discussed for me. Just moved a bit closer to a center (walking distance from my garage), and hoping to get alittle practice and preparation in.
Hoping to get back in bowling shape somewhat soon, especially for summer into fall (once I graduate in June, my schedule allows leagues again).
My last stats were 40* rotation, 12*tilt, 360rpm, 19 off hand. Axis 4.5over x 1/8 up
before I looked at the cg, my plan was to punch this with a double thumb, however I don't think that's going to happen given the cg ending point
another idea was to go alittle weaker, with something along a 2.75" pin, 40*val, 60* drilling angle. I think I can get away with the cg more with this setup, especially if I end up using a weaker x-hole placement.
Any input into punching this?

Pretty much go with any layout you want. You can knock out 2 ounces easily with a balance hole.
I'd just lay it out, weight it up, and see where you stand afterwards.

That's my favorite ball and drill, double thumb Craze... double thumbs are gaining in popularity around here where I bowl.

I'm curious about ending with too much finger weight due to the cg being above the midline, and the weighthole being so far below

Can your driller drill the fingers deeper to offset that?

2 finger holes at 31/32 can be driven pretty deep, and has the potential to remove several ounces of weight.

Drill the fingers deep. Since the cg is offset right, drill the right finger hole 3 1/2" deep and the left finger hole 3" deep. All taken care of. Piece of cake.StrikeTheory wrote:2 finger holes at 31/32 can be driven pretty deep, and has the potential to remove several ounces of weight.
