Give me a Mo Special

Post by MegaMav »

Alright, ive got a video.

My SD card storage on my camcorder isnt cutting it, blurry as hell.
Back to tape next time.
You can see my roll a little better at lane level.
I can roll it flat, 45 degrees or get around it deeper.
I can tilt the ball way up playing in the dirt, or have nearly nothing playing tight.
I can take my RPM's down to near nothing, or up to around 300.
Overall im versatile and have loved my 55 x 4 x 35 Awesome Finish @ 1500 Grit.

My Specs:

Rev Rate: 275-300
Tilt: 11-20
Axis Rotation: 25-75
Im a pieces
I love PowrKoil18

I do struggle with ball speed, usually 15.5 at the pins.

Ive got a NIB N'tense LevRG
3" Pin 2.5 Top

Please make your recommendation.

Thanks in advance, I'll get a sharper video next week with the Awesome Finish.

Just a note on the video and your comment about speed... It looks like you're cutting off the backswing a bit. If you let gravity swing the ball for you, you should be able to get a bit more height and speed with no effort (aside from the effort required to stop yourself from cutting off the swing).

I was thinking the same thing, you look like you have a great form and approach and play different lines very well, but there is that little hitch in your backswing where it looks like you cut it off slightly and also break your elbow. Breaking your elbow a little isn't the worst thing, I've seen some of the pros do it I believe to get their hand a little more under the ball, but it is usually done as the ball is coming down from the backswing, just before the release. You are doing it in your backswing as the ball is swinging up, which may be why you are cutting off your backswing.

I have no problem getting my back swing up shoulder high.
You'll see it on my first shot.
I cut off my backswing as I get deeper because i have to slow hook it more.

Thanks for the advice, maybe its something I need to work on.

Next time you're practicing inside, try just holding the ball a bit lower in your stance. Moving up on the approach by the amount you lowered it can help some people sync up their timing with the lower swing. For others, getting the ball into the swing a little earlier or later will sync them up. If you can shorten the swing without using your muscle to cut it off, you'll get more consistency.

Boss,

Sorry about the delay!

Recommendations on your delivery, first.
1) Hold the ball closer to your body to reduce grip pressure. (It's OK to touch yourself. You won't go blind, no matter what you've been told!)
2) You over cup your wrist on the bad shots. You must unload the wrist at the bottom of the swing if you cup at the start.

Recommendation for the 'Ntense LevRG: 65 / 3 1/2 / 25 with a P3 hole. Drill the fingers deep, if necessary, for that balance hole location.

Again, my apology, Boss!

No boss here, except you.
You guys run this forum, I just provide the site as a service to the sport.

Thanks for your time, I'll be using the Ntense on Sport this summer.

I'll be using Seek & Destroy / Ntense / Awesome Finish exclusively on Shark / Scorpion / Chameleon.

Seek & Destroy is 45 X 4.5 x 60 - No X-Hole
Awesome Finish is 55 x 4 x 35 - No X-Hole

S&D worked out well this summer on Shark, but the other patterns blew apart in the middle so fast, they all ended up like reverse blocks, what a mess.
They didnt play anywhere near what they played in other houses for me.
The proprietor (Marty Coppolo), said just before sport league started that he replaced a buffing tube on the Kegel machine.

I was missing a ball that I can stand in the middle of the lane square to the pocket, stay behind it with little tilt and just feed it to the pocket by having it tip up on the backend.

Paul hooked me up with the Awesome Finish layout, and I've been really doing well with it in league staying square, on more than 3 occassions in past 6 weeks I've had at least the front 7 in a game.

At 1500 grit it really has a bite to it on the pin deck, a great ball you created there.

Thanks again for your time.
