Ball Suggestion for Full Roller
I've got an older customer who's looking to get a ball in the near future to give him some length. He's throwing an asymmetrical Lane #1 ball that's a couple of years old, but it picks up way too early and rolls forward too soon. His common leaves are the 8, 10, and high/flat splits. Looking for a ball to clear the dry in the track area to give him more down lane reaction.
Also, I've heard of other full-roller layouts that involve moving the pin clockwise toward the middle finger (into the track) to increase length. Any ideas on this?
Thanks!

Re: Ball Suggestion for Full Roller
On a symmetrical ball, am I able to move the pin further from 3 3/8" rather than toward the grip center?
And as a follow up, he actually tracks across the ring finger and bridge area even with the typical full roller layout. Is there a necessary grip adjustment or layout change?

He throws an "over rolled" full roller. Please measure his PAP accurately and post it here. This one is tricky. Where are you located? The Kid wrote:On a symmetrical ball, am I able to move the pin further from 3 3/8" rather than toward the grip center?

Re: Ball Suggestion for Full Roller
I'll see him tomorrow afternoon (Thursday). I'm almost expecting negative tilt.
I'm in Tucson, AZ. Unfortunately, I'm probably 120 miles from the closest Advanced Certified shop for consultation, and Phoenix' pro shop competition is overly political.
Suggestions, good sir?

Re: Ball Suggestion for Full Roller
Update:
Measured the PAP: 7 1/2" over, 2 7/16" up. Tilt measured out at -10*. Rotation is roughly 45*, which I thought was pretty interesting.
Also interesting was the fact that the ball bowties on/near the bridge. The track otherwise goes right of the grip.
Work your magic Mo!

The only place I teach "over-rolled" full rollers to a group is at the IBPSIA Advanced class.EricHartwell wrote:I recently saw a guy throwing the "over rolled full roller" here in Michigan. Re: Ball Suggestion for Full Roller
Result was phenomenal. This is easily the best reaction he's ever seen. His average is creeping back up and he's enjoying getting a definite hook zone (ball hook-stopped before).
Carry is great, look is great, and he's buying a Destroy/R to support Mo, because he was the key to this success story.
I'll post the procedure, if Mo okay's it.

If you have the time and the control of the English language to describe that accurately, have at it. It won't be easy. I suggest you use pictures, too. When you use it in print, please give credit to the source, as I know you will. People will enjoy it.The Kid wrote:Result was phenomenal. This is easily the best reaction he's ever seen.
