Varying Pitches

Post by lpc300 »

Wondering if any of you have heard of this or done this. Have any of you ever had two balls with different pitches in order to produce different rolls. I have a bowler who gets a huge amount of side turn. I altered her pitches in order to raise her track and give her more forward. Worked great, but there are times where the ball with more side is better for the condition. She isn't uncomfortable with changing the balls with the different pitches from shot to shot and doing this makes it easier for her to not think so much about her release; the ball does the work. So I'm wondering if this sounds reasonable to do and if any of you do this.

A pure amateur would probably have a problem changing from one type of grip to another. Heck, even a seasoned professional might have trouble, especially in the middle of a game.

It would be great if she could adjust her hand angle a little. If practiced, it's a much easier adjustment.
