Layout For The Wife

Post by StorminSlee »

Hi Eric, trying to get some bowling balls drilled for the wife. She has a Storm Rocketship that was drilled 55x4x40 when her PAP was 3 x 1 1/2. But her PAP has changed now. The ball does not seems to hook much now with her new PAP.

Her specs are:
RH
12 MPH from the monitor.
140 Rev
65 degrees of rotation
17 degrees of tilt
Synthetic
THS
EVEN
Ratio 1.25:1 ?
3 1/2 x 3/8
She has these to bowling balls to drill. Track Paradox Red, DV8 Instigator, and Storm HyRoad.
Thank You
Keep up the Great job!

Her new PAP has given her a longer Pin to PAP and lower totals on the Rocketship, less hook and earlier roll.
The pin will be flirting with the Middle finger on many of the basic arsenal layouts.
The DV8 uses the DOT so no adjustments will need to be made on it.

Her specs are:
RH
12 MPH from the monitor.
140 Rev
65 degrees of rotation
17 degrees of tilt

Benchmark 90* Total, 1:1 Ratio 45-4-45

Track Paradox Red ................ 45-4.5-65 Control
DV8 Instigator ..................... 65-4-45 Long and Strong
Storm HyRoad...................... xx-4-40 Symmetrical Benchmark

Adjustments may be necessary for the Paradox and HyRoad.

What is her grip span?

PAP 4.75" up 1/2"

12* tilt
330 rev rate

Hi Eric, her span is 3 3/4. I have learned a lot just reading the post on here. So, her ratio is 1:1 because of the slight high rotation? Also, on the Sweet Spot number, 90 and 95 are used in the Dual Angle guide. I see that you use 90 in a lot of posts, might have missed the post where you said to use this number. Is that what I should be using?

Since a balance hole cannot be used anymore on a symmetrical ball, and the drilling angle is not used, what now determines the skid distance?

I have another ball for her, DV8 Notorious.

Again, Thank you for you time!

And being slightly speed dominant.

Also, on the Sweet Spot number, 90 and 95 are used in the Dual Angle guide. I see that you use 90 in a lot of posts, might have missed the post where you said to use this number. Is that what I should be using?
The calculations start at 95* and adjusted from there.

Coverstock prep and the thumbhole forming the Drilling angle.
I have another ball for her, DV8 Notorious.
Benchmark ........... 45-4-45

Comments in color above
With her short PAP and Span, pin in the middle finger is going to be a popular layout for her

Hi Eric,

Just wanted to thank you for the recommendations. Drilled the DV8 Notorious. The wife loves it. Just wondering if you can give me all the layouts for my wife's stats? Looking to drill a ball for the Mid-Lane. There is a slight change, her release is better now so her PAP has changed. It's now 3 5/8x1.

Thank You

I am asasuming her release stats are still the same even though her PAP has changed.
