I just watched Mo's Seminar on Youtube, He speaks of the '9 layouts' the numbers I understand and the pin distances as well and how they work for the particular PAP. My question is when a bowles PAP is in the 6" range how does Mo adjust the layout to match that bowler, +/- on the drilling angel, tweak the PAP-Pin distance or +/- the VAL, or all three.

He uses three positions for the psa. In the thumb, half way between thumb and pap, and on the VAL.

I guess my question is these 9 layouts when does a driller adjust the numbers? or is it pretty much cookie cutter for all

He’s adjusting the Drill angle so the psa is in those positions

Post a link to the seminar video and I will give my interpretation.
There is just too many videos and not enough time for me to try and find what you are referencing.

Without seeing the video you reference I can say is to map a given layout from the bowlers PAP assuming that the dual angle layout numbers have been given.
In your example of a bowler that has a PAP of 6 over and whatever up or down, different from the example given by Mo, then the layout will look different from those given Examples. But will basically be the same for two different bowlers.

The layouts would be adjusted based on the bowlers release specs, Tilt, Rotation, Speed and Revs. Different combinations of release spec would dictate a different type of adjustment.

To really understand you need to view, read and understand what Mo has been trying to convey for years. There is a lot if information on youtube, facebook and the wiki here in BowlingChat for your viewing pleasure.

Here are a few links to get you started...

At 3:21 he sums it all up. It is the same, it just looks different.

There is an adjustment and it is between the Asymmetrical and Symmetrical layouts. The Symmetrical layout has 5 less degrees in the the VAL Angle. That is because Asyms have a sharper breakpoint and the 5* adjustment is to give a similar breakpoint shape.
