The longer pin to PAP on Asyms promote forward roll. Controlling the lane from front to back rather than side to side like the 4" pin to PAP.

Yes because it needs time to slow down and there’s not as much lane left at the end of the pattern for it to move back to the pocket.

I have a no rule solid that I'm feel like the layout isn't right on. Which wouldn't really be a surprise given I bought it used. From the picture of it would you be able to tell me if it falls into range with the correct layouts? I got it originally thinking it would be a strong ball that would be good for heavy oil but it really doesn't seem to do the job.

Hmm. That doesn't really fit any of the layouts you gave me. No wonder it doesn't seem to work well for me.

It is really not far too off. It is near the Long and Strong but the pin to PAP is a little bit stronger than what I had recommended making it say, a Long and Stronger layout.
The issue I see is the dull surface killing the Long in the Long and Stronger layout. A shiny surface would help it get more length in the skid phase to help it stay off the nose. I would use it for a deeper inside line.

The Basic arsenal is just that Basic. It is a starting point. It doesn't mean those are the only layouts that can be used. Getting outside the Basic Range starts to make them more condition specific balls.

Try a surface adjustment before you give up on it.

Ok, I think I have my arsenal basically all set. Looking at BTM ball comparison I have a good range of ball strength and length.

Currently have in order of strength: DV8 Outcast, Motiv Tribal, Hammer Widow Legend, and RotoGrip No Rules.

Strength differences between are +3, +5, +3. When bowling on the lanes the transition between each ball works out pretty well for when one is too strong the next works well. Based on most arsenal build discussions I've watched they tend to layout 5 or 6 balls. Those include at least one urethane and one extremely strong ball. I have 2 other balls that are older, one I had the span fixed on and one that hasn't been changed because I really don't think it has a place in my arsenal anymore. The one that fits is very very close to the widow legend so I'm not sure what to do with that, but it's not really relevant. My real question is, what would make more sense to pick up next to round out the 5 ball arsenal. The extra strong ball or the urethane? I'm most likely not going to be jumping on any purchases for awhile, per my wife, since I've spent quite a bit in the short time I've been back even going with used.

Some changes to this lineup. The outcast has basically be removed, I may have to pull it back out to see if it works better now that I've been back to bowling for awhile. I picked up a Turmoil 2 Pearl that is laid out almost identical to the No Rules for pin placement which was supposed to be a step down from my Widow Legend to fit between it and the silver Tribal. However, strangely, after cracking the oob shine it ended up being stronger than the Legend. I took the Legend in to have the oil extracted, thinking it may have just gotten saturated, but the PSO said after 2 hours no oil came out. At this point I'm having the ball resurfaced to see if it regains any strength. If not then I am going to have to assume the ball just died prematurely.
I also went to have my PaP remeasured using a flaring ball and it was measured at 6" x 1" up which is pretty close to the original PaP measurement. I have a Hustle Ink being ordered and once it's in I'll have to come up with the layout I should put on it to fit between the Turmoil 2 Pearl and the silver Tribal. So I'm looking for a bit of input on suggestions for the layout for the Hustle Ink. If I find that the Legend can't be revived to it's previous strength I may end up needing something between the Turmoil 2 Pearl and the No Rules solid, but that's a discussion for a later date.
