Ball Layouts

Post by Dazzler » January 27th, 2019, 4:08 pm

Should I layout all balls with same dual angle layout? Also, what would a 60 x 4 1/2 x 45 layout look like?

Welcome to BowlingChat

The Dual Angle system is used for Asymmetrical balls.
60-4.5-45 will put the Pin very close to the ring finger depending on PAP location and grip span.
It would need to be adjusted to Pin in the ring finger to be close to what you propose.
This layout would be a Benchmark for a Rev dominant bowler with 20* of tilt.

I would not have all of my balls in an arsenal drilled with the same layout.
Different lane conditions will require different ball motion shape to be ultimately successful.
You also have to consider the type of balls Symmetrical or Asymmetrical.
What balls are you proposing to use the 60-4.5-45 layout on?

For me to give layout advice I need to know about your release.
Do you use your thumb?
How you throw the ball, release specs.
Tilt, Rotation, Speed, Revs and PAP location.

I always start with finding the Benchmark and work from there.

High tilt/Rotation speed dominant. 70* Total, 1:2.25 Ratio,
Asymmetrical Benchmark 20-4.5-50 pin in the ring finger

Asymmetrical Layouts
Totally Strong ................. 20-5.5-30
Midlane ......................... 10-5-40
Benchmark .................... 20-4.5-50
Long and Strong ............. 40-4.5-50
Control .......................... 20-4-70

Dull surfaces will help you get the ball to roll.

Did your stats change that much by removing a wrist brace?

Yes, it changed a lot. I hope to find out how I should lay out the squatch and ludicrous I have purchased.

House shot recommendation
The Squatch with the Control will be a great ball for fresh house shots
Beyond Ridiculous xx-4-35 when you need a little bit more skid snap than what the Squatch can do.
