Tournament arsenal for the wife

Post by fufu »

Specs:

Avg: 220-230
Tilt: 22*
Axis Rotation: 65*
Speed: 14.5 to 15(monitors), 2.82sec from release to pins, with a tendency to be firm
Rev Rate: 257
PAP: 4.75>, .75^

Favorite ball: Intense Fire: 30x4.75x60

Others:
Rotogrip Halo 15x4.75x30
Storm Hyroad Nano Xx5x40
Storm Phase II Xx4x60(2nd favorite ball)
Storm Code Red Xx4x30
Rotogrip Winner Xx4x30

By my calculations, I have a starting ratio of 1:1.75.
Sums: 85-90
Asymmetrical Pins: 4.5-5.5
Symmetrical Pins: 3-4”

Obviously, she struggles on heavier and/or longer oil. She is going to bowl a few more regionals this year, the National Queens and other demanding condition tournaments combined with some house shot tournaments.

I would benchmark at 80* Totals 1:1.75 Ratio

The totals on the Halo are just too low.
I would Plug and redrill or replace with a Totally Strong type layout 30-5-30.

Thank you for your help.

So my sums of 85-90 are reduced to 80 by virtue of her being speed dominant plus high tilt/rotation??

Totally Strong ........... 30x5x30
Midlane .................... 15x5x45
Benchmark ............... 45x4.5x35
Long and Strong ........ 70x4.5x30
Control...................... 45x5x55

Eric, I've been really trying to dial in the ratio chart.

Please critique as necessary but here is what i calculated.

I see now that the Halo is outside of the normal parameters for her. She has only thrown in a handful of times, once being at a PWBA regional using the Mark Roth 42' pattern.

Looks like you got the ratio backwards on the Benchmark.
Working with the lower ratio for higher tilt bowlers gets confusing.
It is easy to get backwards.

80* total, 1:1.75 Ratio
80/2.75=29.09, 80-30=50
Benchmark 30-4.5-50

80* total, 1:1.75 Ratio
80/2.75=29.09, 80-30=50
Benchmark 30-4.5-50
I redid the math...

Totally Strong ........... 20x5x40
Midlane .................... 30x5x30
Benchmark ............... 30x4.5x50
Long and Strong ........ 70x4.5x30

Now I’ve got it. I converted the 1:1.75 to decimal form then converted the ratio to X:1.
