Layouts / Arsenal ? Eric ?

Post by todvan »

My release stats are in my signature...updated slightly

I am adding Radical balls in a slow conversion from Motiv. I hope to add a Conspiracy soon.

Here is what I have right now:

Motiv Sigma Sting XX x 4.25 x 40 pin above RF
Motiv Revolt Vengeance XX x 4.25 x 50 pin in RF
Radical Intel XX x 3.5 x 60 pin below and short of RF
Motiv Jackal LE 45 x 5 x 45 asym

The Intel has become my first ball out. The Sting is cleaner, slightly weaker, but more backend. The Vengeance is a bit longer than the Intel, but stronger finish than the Sting (more core). The Jackal was too strong for THS, but I have recently polished it and it will play if I keep it in the oil.

Sometimes I need more recovery and/or a stronger backend angle and continuation, which is why I am looking to add the Conspiracy. Just don’t want it to be too much ball for THS.

I am looking for layouts (sym and asym) for my stats, and any recommendations for the arsenal. Playing 2 different houses with different THS reactions, plus rare tournaments. Thanks!

I think I have it figured out by comparing to others with close to my stats.

I’d post what balls you’re looking at, he’ll suggest layouts.

Thank you, Eric!

I have seen you mention that benchmark is sometimes strong for THS. Of the different layouts listed, which are most useful on THS? I seem to have mostly control to benchmark layouts right now, but I am thinking long and strong (like the Conspiracy layout you recommended) is my other option when I need more recovery/backend?

Using larger totals for THS conditions is because there is plenty of friction.

Another option is to use Benchmark ratio with the raised totals to get a reaction between the Long and Strong and Control layouts.
The low flare can be augmented with different ratios for more options as well.

The Basic list I start with is just that, it's basic. Its just a starting point. It sets up a range of usable layouts to choose from once a ball is chosen.
