I run a proshop in New Zealand, I don't get many 2 handed bowlers to drill for looking for some layouts and advice, he has a very high track and clips the middle finger sometimes, we have tried a performance fit and this has helped a little.
Specs are
Release speed 18mph
Tilt 5-6 degrees
Rotation 65 degrees
Revs 450
Any help is appreciated
Regards Harry

Re: Layouts for 2 handed bowler
What is his PAP measurement?
Also, how is it measured? from the bridge or a pseudo span?

With that PAP the tilt is actually negative 5* to get it to hit the middle finger.Harrytech wrote:The bowler is Right handed.

Higher flaring layouts will get the track off the finger hole sooner.

Re: Layouts for 2 handed bowler
If he's only drilling 2 finger holes then that Val position probably doesn't mean much other than putting it at a flare safe position.

Re: Layouts for 2 handed bowler
The VAL is a line that is spherically parallel to the grip centerline. I has nothing to do with holes being flare safe. It is a reference line that the PAP is on and the pin is positioned from.gunso wrote:If he's only drilling 2 finger holes then that Val position probably doesn't mean much other than putting it at a flare safe position.
Large VAL Angles positioning the Pin below the fingerline will run risk of the ball's track flare running over the finger holes.
This reminded me to ask where the pin is located on the ball where he is clipping the middle finger?

Re: Layouts for 2 handed bowler
"putting it" was a referral to putting the pin at a flare safe position since the VAL angle controls the pin location along with the pin distance. I should have made myself clearerEricHartwell wrote: The VAL is a line that is spherically parallel to the grip centerline. I has nothing to do with holes being flare safe.
