Layout advice for several balls

Post by jazlar »

Ok, I've got some new balls coming, so I thought I'd ask your opinions on layouts for them. Let's assume I have no other balls at all.

I don't have my updated stats, but I will give you what I calculated a year ago. They shouldn't be much different really. I believe I've increased my tilt a little.

Tilt: ~5 degrees (might be closer to 10 now)
Rotation: ~45 degrees
Speed: 16-18 mph (off hand)
Rev rate: ~300 rpm
PAP: 5 over, 1/4 up

I throw 14 lbs as well.

These are the balls I have coming very soon:

Hammer Rip'd Solid
Hammer Rip'd
Motiv Venom Shock Pearl
Motiv Combat Tank

I'm already pretty sure how I'm having the VSP drilled, but I'd still like to know thoughts. Also, since we're assuming I have no other balls (not actually true), what would you recommend for the gap between the Rip'd and the VSP (balls and layouts)? I do plan to get another Shock (original) at some point.

Brand doesn't really matter. I do currently have a bunch of Storm/RG balls and a few others. I'd probably like to stick with Motiv, Hammer/EBI, and Radical with this arsenal. Should cover all the shapes that would be needed.

Disclaimer: Approximated release specs only yield approximated Layouts.

4 possibly 5 ball investment would be worth it to me to know accurate release specs and base the layouts from them rather than approximations.
If I were to use 5* of tilt and your release is actually 10* the layouts will push your reactions too far down lane or on the other hand base them off 10* and you do have 5* then the reaction will be too early. Not to mention the error from estimated rev rate and a speed with a 2 mph range to it.

Here is a link to help you get the information needed for me to give layout advice.
