3 ball layputs.......

Post by dballz »

Current nuggets: Mako: 60x5x25, Paradox Black: 55x4 7/8x30,
Maverick Pearl: 55x5x35
Lately my carry has been rough & when I miss light, it's a 2-10 or a combo of that split. Seems like with my ball speed & low tilt, just getting a lot of over/under.

With my specs, wondering if I need some different layouts?
Have an undrilled Mako, Real One, & Warrior Supreme . Possible layouts:
Mako: 60x4x30, get down lane, but stronger motion down lane
Real One: 50x 4 -1/4 - 4 1/2x35, coverstock helps it get down lane & roll strong when pattern breaks down
Warrior Supreme: 70x3x40, similar to Mo's 90x2 1/2x40, but with my speed, figure it would be better to go with 70 drill angle. Allow me to start straighter on tighter patterns with a strong ball &/or when they break down & looking for a smooth motion, when Real One & Mako too strong down lane.
Will be looking to add a pearl later, as well. Thoughts?
Right hand
PAP: 5 1/4" right & 3/4" up
Speed: 16-17
Revs: 290-320
Tilt: 7*
Rotation: 35-45*

Short answer is Yes, you need some different layouts. Your Pin to PAP's are too long.

How is your speed measured?

Been a while, but hink it was last measured down lane & was around 16. Working on that part of my game. Drilled a Real One: 50* × 4 1/2" × 40* & rolls really good.

You think that rolls well, try using your Benchmark as I figure it on an Asymmetrical ball like the Real one.
Sweetspot 100* total, 2.25:1 Ratio

Basic Asymmetrical Layouts ...
Totally Strong ........ 60-4.5-20
Midlane ................. 50-4-30
Benchmark ............ 70-3.5-30
Long and Strong .... 90-3.5-30
Control ................. 70-3-50
low flare ............... 90-2.25-30

The Real One is already a Midlane drilling with a very strong pin to PAP. I would put it in the Sport layout category.

My strongest recommendation is for a Benchmark layout. Then you will have a very good baseline to work from.
