Layout for Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused.

Post by ChicoMelo »

I am looking for some layout ideas for a Hyper Cell Fused. I have about 12 degrees of tilt, axis rotation I can easily manipulate but generally throw about 45 degrees of rotation. Rev rate is 400 RPM and speed off hand is 18 mph. My track is about 5 1/2 and 1/2 up. I have a few asyms I will list. A Storm Sure Lock at 85 x 3.5 x 35, a Hammer Gold Widow at 85 x 3.5 x 35 and a paradox at 120 x 2.5 x 60. I want to go pin down (Longer Val) on this ball to give me a different look with a longer hook shape.

60-4-70 will give you a look you don't have in your arsenal.

Hi Eric,

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. My only worry is the 4 inch pin to pap. I say that because I have not had success with balls that have 4 inch pin to paps on Asymmetrical balls for some reason. Have had success with lower Pin to PAP. Was wondering what 6 1/4 might look on that layout. Your thoughts?

6 1/4" pin to PAP will look very disappointing. Very forward rolling, minimal boards covered. Not recommended.

What is it that you didn't like about 4" pin to PAP?
Have you tried it on a pin down layout?
You already have a pin down with a shorter pin to PAP.

I certainly do not want forward roll happening to early. I am looking to cover more boards but also to have a big and longer hook shape. My past experience with 4 inch pin to pap was that those balls tend to quit just a hair to early. I am not adverse to trying it again with this layout which is a longer val. The lower pin to pap layouts on Asyms tend to retain my tilt and rotation longer and give me a little more continuation through the pins. Let me know your thoughts?

So shorten the Pin to PAP to your favorite 3.5" and tweak some more hook out of it.
