Need a Layout for a Dare Devil Trick

Post by Jmc1972 »

Put this is the wrong place earlier.

Good afternoon,

I am hoping I can get some help. I have a Dare Devil Trick that I’d like to get punched up. I’m looking for a layout.

I play both THS and Sport Shot.
PAP -4 over, 1 3/8 Up
Ball Speed - 17mph
Rev Rate - 275
Axis Rotation - 75 degrees
Axis Tilt - 17 degrees

I’d like to use the ball on THS in the 2 weekly leagues I play and also use it for Sport also.

What is your recommendation?

To help a passionate bowler learn more, I’d be interested in also finding out why the specific layout is recommended if there’s time.

Your help is truly appreciated!
Speed 17.5 off-hand
Rev 275
Tilt 17*
Rot 75*
PAP 4 over 1 3/8 up

Cash, More Cash, Katana x2, Fix, Quick Fix, Intel, Beyond Ridiculous, Tremendous Pearl, Guru Limited, Cyclops Pearl, True Motion & Radical Spare (Waiting to ship - Katana Slash)

Welcome to BowlingChat

You are slightly speed dominant and your high rotation puts you fully in the speed dominant category.
Asymmetrical Benchmark: totals 85*, 1:1.25 Ratio 40-4.25-45

The Dare Devil Trick is a Symmetric. You want a ball for both THS and Sport conditions.
I woould recommend a Benchmark drilling.
Adjusting from the Asymmetric Benchmark...

50-3.5-40 balance hole 2" below midline on the VAL.

The Benchmark Drilling is usable on the most conditions.

To learn more about the Dual Angle process check out the Image and Image at the top right of the page. Lots of info there to help a passionate bowler learn more.

Right Handed
PAP 4.75" up 1/2"
45* rotation
12* tilt
330 rev rate
16 mph off hand

The DDT has a really strong and smooth cover and the benchmark is quite a strong drilling. I'd go for a 4" pin to make it more useable on a house shot as that ball excels on sport shots with its early and smooth charachteristics
