Dear all
I have just drill a motiv red line with motion hole. I have a pap of 6 over and 1 up.
In order for me to have cg on grip center and pap beside ring finger, my dual angle layout turn up to be 120, 4', 60, is that normal and is that ok?

Re: Motion hole
Its fine for symmetrics to go beyond 90* drill angle using the CG
The actual drill angle after drilling is less.

Re: Motion hole
is it possible to shrink down VAL angle to let say 20 for a faster transition? or does it even matters with the motion hole drilling? thanks in advance.

Re: Motion hole
You can move the pin up or down, changing the VAL angle. I think one of the keys to this layout though is the "wheel" effect created by having the thumb hole close to opposite the motion hole. If you had a large vertical component to your PAP, a lower VAL angle could put the pin really high and therefore change the location of the MOtion Hole away from the optimal location range. However, I'm reasonably sure that as long as you're withing a couple inches of the fingers, you'll probably be ok. With your PAP, I wouldn't think it'd be an issue to lower the VAL more if that what you want to do.
Keep in mind too, this technique was developed with Radical's scoop technology cores. I'm sure Mo and Steve took into account the band around the middle of the core when specifying the hole location relative to the pin. So the hole 10" from the pin will likely hit the band and take out dense core material in a Radical ball. YMMV in other equipment.

Re: Motion hole
This person is a thumbless one handed bowler. Not sure if Jerry is in the US or not so the use of a thumb hole and a balance hole would be not be legal in USBC sanctioned event.

Re: Motion hole
The motion hole technology was developed before the scoop technology. The Scoop cores were designed with the motion hole technology in mind. -- JohnPKeep in mind too, this technique was developed with Radical's scoop technology cores.
