You are correct. I will do a low flare layout on something.

Question:
Does it have to be a strong ball like the others (Dark Legend Hybrid) or can a Sigma Tour do the job? Is the intent of the Low Flare layout to used on a "stronger" ball to be controllable/predictable on tougher/lower volume shots? Are there scenarios where a "weaker/middle of the road" ball would be usable for low flare?
I suggested the Dark legend because of its ability to store tilt with the shorter pin to PAP. It is a way to use a stronger ball and have it more controllable/predictable.

The low flare layout on a weaker symmetrical ball is for dry lanes. I am not a fan of low flare layouts on weaker coverstocks. Carry suffers when trying to cover too many boards.

Looking again at your list to bring with you. I don't think you will need the Jackal. Nationals is not a long oil shot. This would leave room for a weaker ball like the Sigma Tour and I would use a Control layout.... 80-4.25-50 adjust to put the pin in the ring finger.

Thanks Eric. Good suggestions and good catch on the Jackal. That gives me some options as shown below.

Updated USBC Arsenal

1. Spare Ball Plastic
2. Covert Revolt (med sport)
3. Red Legend Solid (short sport)
4. Dark Legend Solid (asymm bench)
5. Dark Legend Hybrid (low flare)
6. Sigma Tour or similar (control)***

***I have some options for control ball, some not listed anywhere. Stuff I just found or laying around the garage:
sigma Hybrid on a control layout from 2014 thread
Sigma Tour as suggested above
Black Widow Legend control layout (already drilled in Arsenal)
Original Game Breaker (diff monster)
Immortal AMB Solid (diff monster from Visionary)
Black Widow Limited

Update:
I am taking the Red Legend Solid, Dark Legend Hybrid, and the Sigma Tour to be drilled today.

Arsenal for USBC Nationals:
1. Spare Ball Plastic
2. Covert Revolt 55 x 3.5 x 40 (med sport)
3. Red legend Solid 30 x 4.25 x 55 (short sport)
4. Dark Legend Solid 55 x 3.5 x 35 (asym bench)
5. Dark Legend Hybrid 75 x 2.25 x 35 (low flare)
6. Sigma Tour 80 x 4.25 x 50 pin in ring adjust (control)

I feel pretty good. Mix of hybrid and solids. A symm and asymms. Control and sport layouts.

And the Jackal Ghost and others for longer sport shots in summer league at home/tournaments. I think were on the right track.

Update:
All balls are drilled and looked good in initial testing.
I have sent four of the balls out by Bowling Ball Express already but have to make an adjustment.

I'm going to switch the Dark legend Solid out due to logistics sending my stuff back from Vegas. It may not get back in time for another weekend tournament the next weekend so to be safe I have to switch out the Dark Legend. I'm thinking something moderate like my Toxin at 45x4.5x45 but open to suggestions.

Arsenal for USBC:
1 Spare Ball
2 Dark Legend Hybrid
3 Red Legend Solid
4 Sigma Tour
5 Covert Revolt
6 Toxin???
