It's been 5 years since I've been on this site and I'm glad I was reminded about it.
I got my first Radical in the RAVE and I'm enjoying the ball very much. But, I need something else for second shift league when I want to really open up. And something I can use also for First shift THS leagues as well.
The RAVE is very clean and great on the track or inside of it. I can go deeper, but I can't give the pocket away too much, the ball labors off the spot. Tighter angles carry better, but my margin of error also decreases.
Looking for a versatile ball to go above the RAVE, something I can use on fresh and during transition. And I'm guessing the XENO Pearl is the ball?? but if there's another you all recommend, I'm all ears.
My rave is laid out with 4x4x2 p3 OOB (favorite sym THS layout)
What ball and layout do you all recommend?
Spec: 5 1/8 @ 3/4 ^
<350 rpms with 15.5-16.5 ball speed (using monitor and stop watch to verify speed)
<11*AT with 45-60* AR
Bowling surface: SPL w/ 41' <22 units.
Thanks again guys/gals....

Your 4x4x2 P3 layout translates to approx. 65-4-35 in dual angles.
The drilling angle is approximated as the point halfway between the thumb and the P3 balance hole.
Asymmetrical Benchmark for you is 95* totals 1.75:1 Ratio 60-4-35
So what you have in the Rave is very close to a Benchmark on a weaker cover.
I would consider the Xeno solid 60-4-35 as your ball up from the Rave. I'm thinking it would handle the fresh oil better than the Pearl. Though you could use more surface on the Pearl and go with that one as well.

This is great!! I've always wondered what my asym dual angle benchmark was and I was guessing
70*4*40 ... still I don't fully understand dual angles...
Thank you for the suggestion on the ball choice, Xeno solid. So i'm assuming 60*4*35 is the way to go with Xeno? thanks again

Yes, use surface to adjust the skid length to compliment the Rave.addik wrote:Thank you for the suggestion on the ball choice, Xeno solid. So i'm assuming 60*4*35 is the way to go with Xeno? thanks again
