Reax Version 2 Pearl

Post by MegaMav »

Complementing the Reax Version 2, the Pearl version gives just the right amount of additional length with an even stronger backend reaction. This difference allows bowlers to easily switch from the original Reax Version 2 to the Pearl when the lanes transition or when more entry angle is needed. The Reax Version 2 Pearl incorporates the innovative finger scoop core technology that provides a variety of advanced drillings in order to assure the desired performance. This combination of cover and core provides more length, more backend reaction and a greater entry angle resulting in MORE STRIKES!!!!

With a Radical-ly different layout to my Reax Version 2, the pearl version is outstandingly smoother (as well as being so very purple!)

I wish I'd used a longer pin to PAP in the layout of this ball. Cést la vie. Even so, it's an impressive piece. It'll be a house shot monster with a stronger layout, and still smooth enough to run with on a sport shot.

Spend a few minutes to see how the Reax Version 2 by Radical Bowling Technologies can work for you.

Cheers,
Jason

Thanks Mav & Havoc!

Something a little cleaner through the front with more pop downlane. Maybe 80°x4½x35°~ish. It's a personal preference. I like to see the ball change direction later so that I know it will clear the front and that when I have to move in, knocking the corners out won't be an issue.

My minimum pin to PAP distance is 4½" usually and that's gets added to depending on the cover manufacturer. Normally in a Brunswick poured shell, 5 would be pretty standard as "short pin to PAP" and I'd use a long PSA to PAP to keep it alive. I haven't drilled a ball with a pin this short to PAP in years. I gave it a go. Now I remember why it's been so long. I'm not saying the layout is bad, it just doesn't match up for me. I drilled a Reax 2 Solid for my friend Chris with a 2½" layout last saturday. He described the next morning as "probably the best first time out with a new ball ever." And he drills a lot of balls. Sometimes layouts don't match with players. This time it was me. No biggie.

Cheers,
Jason

It's all about what the eyes see. The layout I sent you is the flare reducing layout. It was developed to allow a strong handed bowler to use a strong ball longer than normal as the lane breaks down. With this layout, the ball hooks less, but still hits like a tank. Play with it more, Jason, and you'll learn to love it when less hook is necessary. Maybe, you should polish the "sh*t" out of it to let you see a later breakpoint. It will still hit! Education is always ongoing.

I bought the REAX2 PEARL and trying to get some layout ideas here. I carry a 199-204 average in 3 leagues and have a high track. After watching most of the posted videos of the ball reactions, I see they are close to mine with a controlled hook and smooth break at the pin deck. I would like to take something into the pro shop that we can look over before drilling. I'm a senior bowler and not speed dominate....just your average bowler. Thanks

Without knowing your release specs tilt, rotation, speed and rev rate your best option is the suggested Asymmetrical layouts for high track bowlers.

You mentioned controlled and smooth so I would suggest the control layout for high track bowler.
