Welcome to BowlingChat

I would question the fit if your thumb is rubbing.
Do you have a proshop you can go to.

There are instructions in the Wiki to follow to check your grip.

Is it rubbing or feel it's cutting in by the web of the thumb.

Its hard to describe.. i had the ball drilled and the hole beveled out and it is still an issue. My thumb fits fine in the hole itself but i feel like either my thumb is too far in the hole or that its not releasing and causing it to rub/irritate. It becomes sore at the crease of the thumb that meets the palm. It doesnt break skin or blister but is super uncomfortable.

Sounds to me like your span is too long.
Post a picture of your thumb fully in the ball and your fingers laying across the fingerholes.
This will help tell if your span is ok.
