Re: Symm Ball Layout
Taking lessons with Del is super cool, took the KCMP Master of Direction course with him and Ruben giving the presentation and it’s like being in a bowling nerd’s Disneyland... The way Alex explains is pretty neat too, very ingenious and smart guy, teaches in a fun way with fewer carefully chosen wo...

Re: Layout advice for Mrs. DMSarch
My daughter used to have a Widow Urethane and it has a marked PSA, if you look at their website there is no photo of the generic core and the diff is higher than the Pink which does have a generic core. Email Mitch (Beasley) just to make sure but I am 98% certain it’s an asymmetrical... same as with...

Re: Layout advice for Mrs. DMSarch
The Brunswick Prisms both have good numbers in 13 lbs. If you can find one, the Radical Ludicrous and the Ludicrous Solid are probably the beat asymmetricals available in 13lbs. A very good Symmetrical block at that weight is the Cyclone core Ebonite uses in their Destiny line, all great balls. Fina...

TD is a really good bowler but your style doesn’t have to be like his, just the fundamentals he has like finishing at a great leverage position. Post video and we can help.

Re: Same ball different layout for league
Bear in mind symmetricals will have the PSA on or near the thumb so a longer pin to pap will yield a smaller drilling angle... in other words cg position doesn’t matter. You could go X x 4 x 25 and have a different surface. For example if you have 500/2000 on your original Hustle Ink, you can go 500...

Re: Layout advice for Mrs. DMSarch
Adding or removing tape once or twice per night is very common, if she is releasing good and has no pain or blisters I say leave it like it is, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Eric Hartwell is really good at prescribing layouts and matching them with balls and surface, thank you Eric. For reference,...

Did you find a coach for your kid, how’s his progress? Just following up on your original post, hope he’s progressing at a steady pace.

Re: That $%^&* 10 pin
All ten pins are caused by deflection, if you move outside adjust your release to have less axis rotation so that the ball rolls forward easier. Watch your ball and see how and where it goes through the three phases of ball motion. A perfect strike for a right hander, the ball will hit the 1, the 3,...

Re: Pain in Thumb Joint
Seems like hand is not relaxed in the ball with your current fit. If you are putting thumb in all the way, fingers in up to the fingertip crease and not squeezing, then it is possible your fit has changed. This could happen for various reasons such as aging or a change in release technique. Linear p...

Strong asymmetricals and such a low ball speed I don’t know... Is there any way we can get her to increase her ball speed to at least 12 mph at the pins?

Keep it simple, I really like your arsenal. I would only add some 360, 500, 1000 and 2000 pads to tune the surface of the Web Tour and Scandal if needed.

Re: New Player Bowling Ball Help
Get an entry level ball like a Twist or Rhino custom fitted to your hand, a good pair of shoes that have a push away sole on your ball side foot and a slide sole on your non ball side sole and get some proper coaching. A lesson every other week with a qualified coach plus three days a week practice ...

Re: Buddies pro shop custom drilling
If you use inserts and an interchangeable slug then yes as long as all your specs are accurate, that means cut spans, pitches, PAP and desired layout too. If you need the thumb to be done then it’s best to do in person.

Re: being in a slump
When bowling we only get angry because we feel embarrassed, like if everyone is looking at how bad we play... getting angry and throwing a fit will only make the embarrassment worst. Maybe your mistake is mental, could be you’re not loose enough or that you may be overthinking your technique. Your b...
