Re: Have problem keeping my hand under the ball.

one of the problems that I have right now is that I changed the inserts to finger tip inserts and each time that I grab the ball it feels like if it is falling off my hand Hmm, wait! Do you mean that you have used conventional or semi-fingertip grip with inserts and just changed the inserts to bowl...

Re: VLe's experimental pro shop -collection

Added a first test clip of my own version of determinator-type measuring tool. It was the only test vid I was able to found on my phone. I have since made the frame a bit stiffer, installed the variable frequency drive to it's place and added small control board to run the machine. Also calibrated t...

Re: VLe's experimental pro shop -collection

If you have any idea or suggestion for some different type of bowling-related tool in mind, I might have some time to help with the design.

Just send me a pm or reply to this topic.

Re: Getting cut right below the first joint of my mf

Start by checking your span. Then see what laterals the wikifit method would give you. Also notice that wikifit laterals are meant to use with wikifit forward/reverse finger pitches but they should point you to the right direction anyway. Depends on what is the cause but if the span is ok, then adju...

Re: Tendency to drop shots

I hope that clarifies the difference between where relative to center span the bend in the thumbhole should point looking inside the thumbhole (in this case for my thumb 45° ) vs how steep the bend should need to be so it would assist my thumb to grab. I made very quick demonstration for one way of...

Re: Tendency to drop shots

let me know what you think the actual drilling technique(s) you would use to make a hole like this happen. I have done little experiments with a bit similar idea. If you would want to knuckle the thumb as in the picture, you will have to use a very loose thumbhole. Otherwise you will hang in to the...

Re: Axis rotation / axis tilt and skid

I can try to explain how I think of this motion. First of all the ball does not roll until the axis tilt and rotation are burned off. With more tilt and rotation it obviously takes more time to get into roll phase. When there is tilt in the ball, it means that the lenght of the track (on the ball su...

Re: spare shooting system

In the 3-6-9 system that is taught at least here in Finland is the idea that you first find a line where you will hit the 1-pin dead center. Usually you find this line either through the third or fourth arrow as right hander (which one feels more comfortable). Then from there you move 3boards left (...

Re: Best Fragrance / Fragrance problems in bowling balls

I think one of the early reasons for the added fragrance was that it may help your shoes to not smell so bad. In the old style bowling bags you used to keep your shoes in the same compartment with the ball(s). Ball selection based on the fragrance is just plain nonsence. Unless there is a bacon-scen...

Re: A "BALL" of nerve in your thumb

For me it gives me a tingling feeling on the thumb when i rub on it. I have to be very careful not to 'load' this ball into the thumb hole with my thumb cause if i do that and when the ball gets off at the release im looking at quite alot of pain. I try to 'push' the nerve aside in the thumb hole I...

A bowling ball pitch measuring tool. Print using original size and check that the boxes are in correct size. You will also need a pointer stick to use this scale. This tool have also a separate topic because it is a bit older project so more accurate instructions to use the scale can be found here: ...

If you want to put the ball back to legal weight without altering the dynamics, use either P2-balance hole or drill the finger hole/holes deeper depending on the situation.

Re: Anyone ever used a low end ball and shoot high on fresh

And the low-cost/low-end very ofter means that part of the ball design is taken from the "old/previous models". Usually the core part. Some of the low cost balls may be there because the manufacturer has a huge batch of cores left from the previous models (at least the molds) and they put ...

Re: Anyone ever used a low end ball and shoot high on fresh

Because generally they (Solids, Hybrids and Pearls) would all use the same base resin. The additional substances (Liquid pearl, powdered pearl etc.) are just additives to that base resin. Yes, but generally speaking if you add different substances to the material recipe which alters the chemical an...

A bowling ball zero pitch aligner for drill presses that uses drill chuck. The shank diameter is 10mm. Tighten this carefully into drill chuck and put the bowling ball into drilling jig. Then align the table so that this zero pointer fits to the ball surface correctly from both (x&y) axles. You ...

I need to buy an okay 3D-printer asap I see! :D What would you recommend for a broke head mech at a bowling center? :P I would say anything about a grand is out of question tbh. Well, if the mech has the ability to keep some tools in hand I would definitely look towards prusa-type of printers. You ...

Re: VLe's experimental pro shop -collection

You know what I'd want? A pitch gauge for switch grip outer sleeves. So you can check the exact pitch in a SG hole. So annoying when you have a tiny thumb like myself, so you can't probably measure with the slug in, and the SG outer sleeve is way to big to measure properly too. If you happen to hav...
