Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
The reason I'm making those references is because of the armchair perception of PBA bowling, how bowling at that level is misconceived. Maybe I get it, the players would look like fools, that would make some people happy. Others could say: "I'm better than him". Then too, some people woul...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
At the PBA level, one shot sends you home. I disagree. If that were the case, then we would see much more variation in who makes the shows. The reason they have so many games of qualifying, is just so that what you said never happens. And if you mean it in a strict way, because somebody misses the ...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
Let's use a hypothetical example, PBA only. Norm Duke can play any line, but it seems he is most effective if he can play off the corner, straight to the pocket. He starts competition on lanes 1 & 2. He starts with a 279 game. The next game, he is scheduled to bowl on alleys 5 & 6. The firs...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
Presumably, reps have done the homework. That's why they are there. To me, a reps input should be all or nothing. What would you like to see them do, or not do? The point i was making was that maybe they should talk with the players about strategy BEFORE the games and then let the players do their ...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
I posted here a few hours a go, now it's gone. Anyway... Short version : 1.Billiards, Chess, Darts are all official sports. 2.We are not talking about eliminating reps, just saying that maybe its better if they do all the strategy and homework with the players before play. 3.Part of bowling, is to r...

How do YOU remove the factory polish on new balls?
Was having a conversation with a friend about this. And the question was, "how do most people remove the gloss polish" of new balls, because they want to try them not so glossy. I hear some people call this "to crack the shine", or "break the shine" ? I'm not sure. Do y...

Re: New Youtube channel
If stated i havnt read, but how long do these pads last, do they wear down like the other popular ones? I haven't performed thorough tests yet, but from what i used so far, i'd say it seems quite probable they last longer. Combined with the fact that they are cheaper as well, they are a good option...

Re: Opinion: Keep ball reps out of active competition
I agree with you as well. I prefer to know that the player accomplished more by himself, than with outside team help.

Re: dry sand vs wet sand on ball spinner
True wet sanding is less aggressive. I could test it out with some specific pad by hand or spinner and determine by how much with the laser scanner. But the way we use them also matters. Pressure, duration.

Re: What is BowlingChat worth to you?
To me this forum was the kind of "not well known little source of knowledge". I feel bad that people have moved onto FB. Because they even "force" others to go there too. Previously i was looking around BBE, Ballreviews and PBA forums.

Re: New Youtube channel
Watched your first video, the Scotch Brite gray pad. This is my predominate, go-to material for my surface. I have always believed it to be 1500. I can buy the same material at a woodworking supply store and it's clearly rated at 1500. I use it wet, with some hand pressure, using a spinner. It does...

Re: What is BowlingChat worth to you?
To me it is a great bowling resource/forum, even though Mo doesn't post here anymore and posts in his son new FB group. It seems people are generally moving to FB groups lately.

Re: Best balls to use a shorter pin layout on
...I have found the amount of side rotation still dictated how much back end you create ...no matter how much the ball flares...i have a physix with a 11/2 in pin and I can play up 8 or swing 4th arrow to 10 and have a hard time keeping it on the right side... Interesting. I redrilled my Messenger ...
