Re: Redrill or Resurface?
Coverstock = Skid Length Core Shape After Drilling = Hook Zone Shape I dont know where you got the idea that coverstocks gave a greater affect on symmetrical balls. Did I summarize too much? My point was anyway that if bowling ball skid too far it cannot hook which sounds to be case here because sl...

Re: Adjusting BEFORE Disaster Strikes
My thoughts: As long as a poster isn't mean or profane I'd leave him/her on. Anyone can choose to simply not read his posts. I agree with John about this. Everyone should be allowed to post their questions/comments/thoughts as long they are not mean or profane. I have also got some negative reputat...

Re: 0 degree tilt!
That is not necessarily correct. A full roller by definition is rolling the ball on the full circumference of the ball, 0* of tilt. Not all full rollers hit gripping holes or roll between the fingers and the thumb. If a bowler has a PAP of say 5" over and has 0* of tilt the initial track will ...

Re: 0 degree tilt!
to my surprise I kept measuring 13 1/2" across the initial track ring. Do the initial track hit the thumb and/or finger holes? If I understand this stuff right it should if you really have 0 degree tilt. Only exception to that is if you are full roller which means that initial track would be b...

Re: Redrill or Resurface?
So I recently bought the Dare Devil Danger 15 lbs to replace my storm crossroad and I am having a little trouble. I am basically getting 0 hook out of the ball unless I throw in uncomfortably slow. Coverstock have much bigger effect to ball motion than layout. Especially on symmetrical bowling ball...

Re: Leaving a certain pin combination: Red flag for change?
The ball didn't deflect or dive bomb the pins. I didn't see a reason to move. Most people would say that if you aren't carrying, then you need to move your line. Where? I make a move left the ball wouldn't come back even if I used a stronger one. It is little bit hard to guess without knowing exact...

10:1 seriously? I have expected that it is an urban legend.Daryl wrote:Well if one can master the wet/dry over/under reaction of some of these 10 to 1 ratio league patterns, a bowler can average way higher than his actual skill set.

Re: Is your fit good enough?
You don't have pain in your hand or wrist. Bowling should not hurt of course but how about after bowling? I have been lately bowling more that earlier have had some wrist pain after bowling. Especially during night time and mornings. But how to know if that is caused by bad fit or that just normal ...

Re: Have you ever quit?
I stopped bowling because of the sick easy lane conditions. Off-topic but I'm just curious that how easy patterns there is on "normal" league/competitions on US? Here is the website for rules and more details: http://www.cdclbowling.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return f...

Re: Leaving a certain pin combination: Red flag for change?
I read this topic before I went to league on Sunday and probably jinxed myself. I'm sorry to hear that that but I can also say that it have been happening most of us. It is one of very hard things on bowling that it needs lot of knowledge but still you should be able to play without thinking too mu...

FYI. I found very interesting presentation by Mo where he talks about this topic: http://radicalbowling.com/uploads/downl ... tation.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe that should be included to wiki too?

Re: Adjusting
Wow, league is six games in Finland? Ahaa so you was talking about team league? In Finland singles are more common (you can partiticate even multiple times on day) and there normally is two persons on one lane and we play 6 six games. But on some alleys they actually play two 6 games blocks with sa...

Re: Adjusting
Did I understand right that in US normal league competitions are just three games? And someone will do lane maintenance before next three games? That is interesting because here in Finland most of the competitions are six games and it is quite normal that highest scores/most of 300 games have been s...

remember I am trying to learn here. Would you abandon your "line" if everytime you did hit the pocket you got an X? "So, many of the pros are adjusting even before an adjustment is needed." - Norm Duke See if I am co...

Re: Leaving a certain pin combination: Red flag for change?
Where you are looking for these boards? On arrows? On breakpoint? You should look them on both to be able to see real line like 10-10 (straight line over second arrow), 15-10 (five boards outside over third arrow), etc. I guess that you are actually walking more to right when you try play more on in...

Re: Leaving a certain pin combination: Red flag for change?
This is very interesting topic because I have trying to learn same stuff lately. It can be very hard to belive how far inside you need to go to get best ball reaction. Anyway, I will try give you another way of think this. Does anyone have any certain pin combinations when they leave it (after what ...

Re: Kegel versus Brunswick
Old post but answering this just in case you are still looking for answer.
It is totally ok use Brunswick oil on Kegel machine. Physics works on same way no matter who have made the oil
Most important thing to consider when choosing oil is what works on lane type which are on your bowling alley.

Re: Fighting bowling ball motion / matching ball to the lane
I can see that many have read this topic but there is no answers yet so I will try. My questions are Why does that rocketship ball (and the storm Timeless jumps worse) "jump" or move so much on the last few feet of the backend? The rocketship isn't a strong ball. For me this sounds that co...

Re: Practicing straight arm swing with an overweight ball?
Lot of good comments. Thanks for them. After all, I actually tried to bowl with 3 lbs wrist weight which at least in my thinking would be almost same than use 18 lbs bowling ball (at least from pendulum point of view). But it felt too weird so I stopped that quite fast. What comes to videos. Lately,...
