Re: follow through left of head?

You guys are making this way too complicated. Follow-throughs go to the left of the head because the fingers and hand go the direction the ball rotates, not the direction the ball travels. IF your followthrough goes the direction the ball travels you will tend to tilt the axis up and lower the rev ...

Re: Span & Pitches: Is Length of Arm a factor?

Your statement was "Show me where Parker or Chris won on tour." I did that. You did NOT ask "show me how successful it is on tour". I can't answer that, nor did I try to. As you said, we don't know how often it's used during the week. That goes both ways. Can you show me the dat...

Re: Span & Pitches: Is Length of Arm a factor?

Parker won the 2008 Spartanburg Classic with it. I've never tried a Rico drill or really had any interest in it. That said, it's hard to call it a failure when it's been around for 15 years. I don't think anyone anywhere "swears by it". Swearing by it is not the point, even Ric calls it a...

Re: Span & Pitches: Is Length of Arm a factor?

This seems to be another one to add to his greatest hits. Rico layout is an utter failure, it isnt flare safe for a majority that try it, and it doesnt hit because it doesnt stop hooking early enough for most players on most conditions. Everyone thinks they're inventing the next greatest thing in b...

Re: BOWLING BALL LAYOUT

I haven't bought the ball yet, but would i have to redrill the entire ball or could i just plug one of the holes and use it? I am fairly confident without putting the ball on the scale, that you would have to plug the whole thing because of the static weights rule. If you plug the thumb, probably t...

OK, well the ball will be illegal for you to throw in USBC sanctioned leagues or tournaments. If you do not use your thumb, you cannot have both a thumb hole and weight hole. In that case, I believe everything else is mute.

Re: BOWLING BALL LAYOUT

I wanted a pin down down layout to create earlier roll but the CG and weight hole location what does that mean in how the ball reacts, so I am curious on what this layout means and what should I expect with it. I do not know my PAP but I am a two handed bowler throw 16-17 mph with around 550 revs. ...

Re: 2 Handed bowling: Is it the Ultimate Advantage?

7 in 10? Around here its around 1 in 10. I think when you say "our bowlers" you mean professional bowlers. Have you looked around bowling centers at the average Joe bowler? His body type hasnt changed in 30+ years. You have a rather morbid view of the game. I cant say I agree with you. My...

Re: 2 Handed bowling: Is it the Ultimate Advantage?

I enjoy what is taking place with bowling. I believe the evolution that its going thru is beautiful. Our bowlers, more than ever are better athletes, and can do things to a bowling ball that only thought a handful of guys can do back in the 70's 80's and 90's. Football players have gotten stronger a...

I got some Vise rapid cure to plug my bowling balls, but the hardener is to dark and have hard time to match colors, I called them and they come up with a color match list which I should use half of the pigment bottle to mach the color which is not worth it . Any ideas which one to buy that both ar...

Re: Holtzman scale

Has any one out there ever check the accuracy of this scale compared to the traditional do-do scale? If so how does it stack up? We used both of them for a month after getting the digital scale, and I was surprised how accurate it was comparing it to do-do. Usually matched up perfectly. Very happy ...

Stay away from wrist braces; they do more harm than good for modern bowlers. How can you say "Stay away from wrist braces" when there are girls on the PWBA tour that wear them, and some that are very good! ie. Claudia Guerrero, Ashly Galante to name a few. Some people need them, some peop...

Re: Moving Back Right (right handed) anyone forgot?

I've been a bowling writer since 2004. I do a lot of research: books, online, and personal interviews. I am able to retain much of what I learn, though often I can't remember where I saw it. This is the case with the 8 units of oil, though I have a vague recollection of a long conversation with Rob...

Re: Moving Back Right (right handed) anyone forgot?

It really doesn't matter. Many bowlers react to the idea of carry down as a thing of the past in a way that they would if someone was questioning their belief in God. If you have it in your head that it's carry down, then NOTHING that I or anyone else is going to say will motivate you to open yours...

In fact, they really don't acknowledge anything under eight units. Unless the streaks are eight units or more, they are not adversely affecting ball motion. Personal opinion or fact? Also if it is fact, where did you get this fact from. Also do you agree that different cover stocks act differently ...

Thank you, Steve. You stated my feelings exactly. You're welcome to your opinion of him, but there was no reason for it in this thread other than to call him out (and you know it). It added nothing to the discussion at hand, and will almost certainly degrade this thread into another unreadable mess...
