Re: Transitions too fast with current layout?

I don't know of any pro shops around my area that have a determinator.

When you said the layout looked good for my specs (in your original reply) were you talking about the 35*4.5*35 for the 912T or the 50*4*45 I was thinking about for the Raptor Talon?

Re: Transitions too fast with current layout?

I thought those specs were good for the 912T also, however that ball barely hooked 5 or 6 boards on the shark pattern (I tried playing straight up 12, tried moving in and playing the drier areas, but no place could I get the ball to move like I know it should). I was figuring it would hook quite a b...

Transitions too fast with current layout?

What I have now just isn't reading the heavy oil anywhere near enough (throwing a Track 912T on the Shark pattern). The 912T (just recently plugged and redrilled) is drilled up 35*4.5*35 (I'm not sure if the ratio is high enough now after throwing it and dying on the pattern last night). Getting a M...

Re: layout opinion

I might finally be starting to understand this whole ratio thing...

I had actually written down 40*4.25*40 for the 811CT and 35*4.75*35 for the 912T (knowing that I can tweak the covers to get even more of what I'm looking for).

Thanks

Re: layout opinion

Sorry I forgot to post those:

Speed = 18 (off hand)
Revs = 350
Rotation = 40
Tilt = 24
PAP = 3-1/2 over, 1/4 up

layout opinion

I bowled on the "shark" pattern last night with a freshly drilled 503T @ 40x4.5x50 (nowhere near enough ball but I did like the ball motion even though it was too far down the lane). I drilled this ball for lighter sport shots or for something to go to later in the block. My 912T & 811CT are both in...

Re: Trying to understand the ratio thing

So maybe a 3-1/2" or 4" pin to PAP on the 503T? I have no issues with adding a balance hole to either ball. Any suggestions as to which location? Do the other balls look like they would work?

Thanks very much for your help.

Re: Trying to understand the ratio thing

I appreciate the feedback...now to try and apply it...here's what I've come up with (feel free to tear it apart)

912T = 45x4x3
811CT = 40x4.5x50
503T = 35x5x65
300T =45x3.25x40 (symmetrical ball)

716C = 45x5x45
811A = 55x4.25x35

Any tweaks or recommendations are welcomed

Re: Trying to understand the ratio thing

Thanks for your help Eric...I came up with 95 as my benchmark # (since I'm slightly rev dominate I figured 105 and then subtracted 10 for having a high tilt), the 80 number came as a recommendation from someone else on the forum (who I have no doubt understands it a lot more than I do). I too am hop...

Re: Trying to understand the ratio thing

That is for asymmetrical layouts. I understand your change to the 912T layout as I'm reading the paperwork. So with that being said maybe the 503T as 30x5.5x70? If I'm understanding this paperwork right the benchmark ball would be the "sharper breakpoint" layout, the ball for heavy oil would be the ...

Re: Trying to understand the ratio thing

Now I'm a little confused. I'm looking at "MO's recommended layouts for low track players" and it shows the control layout as having the longest Pin to PAP distance. Am I misreading or not understanding that sheet correctly? Just trying to get a foothold on understanding all this data.

Thanks

Trying to understand the ratio thing

Was given a benchmark layout of 35x4.5x45 (on asymmetricals) which if I understand this right is a 1:1.25 ratio Let's say I'm going to make my 811CT this benchmark ball on sport shots (I would have a 912T above it and a 503T below it) Hand: left Speed: 18mph Revs: 350 Rotation: 40 Tilt: 24 PAP: 3.75...

Re: Need dual angle layout help

So it looks like my angles should add up to the 80 range and that the ratio is close to 1:1. The 300T is the only symmetrical of the bunch. My PAP is slightly less than 4" over & 1/4" up. Does that have any other effect on the Pin to PAP distance?

Need dual angle layout help

I'm new to this whole concept so please forgive me if I ask too many questions or put too much data in this post. I'm looking to find out what my numbers should be for the dual angle system (I've been reading all the literature and trying to grasp all the knowledge I can). I finally finished getting...

Re: Arsenal opinion

Thanks for the info. I will be doing a short video of my release tomorrow so that I can get my axis rotation, then I will refer to you guys for some help and understanding on what kind of angles I will need for layouts, etc.

Arsenal opinion

I'm in the process of getting all the info I need in order to get help with layouts (what my angles need to be, etc.)...still need to get my axis rotation. I will be plugging a few balls and re-drilling as I know what I have now isn't laid out as it should probably be (pins are too close to PAP). An...

Re: Axis tilt & rotation #'s don't seem right?

I had a friend use my phone to do the video (thought the tape would show up better than it did). He had it right above the approach but I don't think it could zoom in close enough for what was needed. I just thought if someone knew my numbers they might be able to let me know if those numbers are po...
